Butler in at #19 now after not being in last week.

have to say St John's in the coaches is right about where I thought.

Coaches poll is, as always, a complete joke so I'm not going to worry about that. St. John's will obviously be ranked in AP. It is amazing though that SEVEN Big East teams are getting votes. Seventy percent of the league. Insane.

Good thing no one cares about the coaches poll, everyone goes off AP. Not sure why they still vote.

St. John's 24th. I think It's crap Gtown isn't ranked, but good for the conference. Hoyas will get in when we beat Kansas this week.

Hoyas 28th Seton Hall 30th. Creighton receiving some votes.

Update time.

Last night I said Most likely: Villanova (predicting #7), Butler (predicting #17) and St. John's (predicting #24) ranked. Pretty close.

Excellent week. Big East did not only survive a tough week but thrived.

NOTE: + means they gained spots from the prior week (for example- Nova was #10 last week and #7 this week in the AP so they are +3)

#37 AP (-3)/ #37 CP (-3) Creighton- very nice win @ Nebraska yesterday but their loss @ Tulsa set them back a bit. Only 4 more OOC games remaining, don't see them being ranked if they sweep since it's easy competition but would be in a great position.
DePaul- playing very well at 6-1 with a win over Stanford, but due to their easy OOC schedule and Lehigh loss they'd need to win every game prior to BE play for a shot at being ranked. May start getting some votes in the next couple weeks if they keep winning.
#28 AP (+5)/ #30 CP (+6) Georgetown- they'll be ranked with a win vs. #10 Kansas on Wednesday. Need to win that game to be ranked prior to conference play.
Marquette- no chance at being ranked prior to conference play.
No votes AP (previously #29)/ #44 CP (-17) Providence- frustrating week for Providence with their loss @ BC, however should be ranked if they win the next 5 including vs. #20 Miami.
#30 AP/ #34 CP (previously no votes) Seton Hall- still undefeated at 7-0 with yesterday's win, so if they win @ #8 Wichita State on December 9 they'll be guaranteed to be ranked. Likely only chance of being ranked prior to conference play.
Xavier- won't have a shot at being ranked prior to conference play even if they win out. They have an easy OOC schedule and no chances for statement wins.

And the teams that need to worry about hanging on.... (already in the top 25)

#15 AP (+8)/ #19 CP (+10) Butler- great week with two solid wins, and now ranked in the CP as well. Two games this week, vs. Kenn and @ Tenn. Can afford to lose one game and still be ranked next week.
#24 AP (+15)/ #27 CP (+17) (previously no votes) St. John's- finally cracked the Top 25 with a great win @ Cuse. No room for error this week need to win vs. FDU and Fordham to remain ranked, though that shouldn't be too difficult. Will likely crack the CP next week if they win both.
#7 AP (+3)/ #7 CP (+2) Villanova- excellent playing, another two wins to remain undefeated and gained more ground. This week have two games coming up (vs. Illinois @ MSG and vs. Temple) and will be ranked the following week even if they lose both.

For next week...

Best case scenario:
Vilanova, Butler, St. John's, Georgetown and Seton Hall ranked.
Worst case scenario:
Villanova ranked.
Most likely scenario:
Villanova, Butler, St. John's and Georgetown ranked. Seton Hall double digit underdogs since they're on the road, so I don't think they'll win.

We're reaching the end of OOC play. Only about 4 games left for most teams. If we end with 3-4 teams ranked we'll be in fantastic shape.

The Johnnies will play Duke at the end of January. Not sure if anyone else has non-cons after January 1.

Off the top of my head I know Xavier plays Cincinnati and Nova plays Penn.

Certainly no guarantee, but I think the Hall could have a chance if they play Wichita tight and then win their remaining ooc games.

forget that- it's a 100% lock that if the Hall beats Wichita(and doesn't lose to St Peter's) that they will be in the top 25.
