Don't care if Syracuse doesn't have a great record. Only lost to Cali and barely @Mich. a win at their place should do it.

Problem is, they are coming off of a loss, they are at home.

Although our guys like Harrison have been quoted saying this is the biggest game of their careers. But, DLo said a similar thing about the providence game at the BET last year. And they came out and let a Tyler Harris out rebound Chris obekpa and Jakarr Sampson. We will see.

Exactly, they were a turnover away from being an elite team again. They are still a great team, and their final record will prove that.

SJU 8 point dogs so I'm not getting excited. They never come through in games like this. Yeah they'll upset a ranked team or two at home this year but won't win the big time games. I expect a loss and think this team will barely make the tournament. When all is said and done this will be a mid 40s RPI team but not a ranked team.

If they lose this game- they would also lose to Duke. That's 3 OOC losses- so 9-3 overall(remember the D2 game doesn't count). Go 10-8 in conference play that gets them to 19-11. Gets them to around #43 in the RPI. Puts them in the exact same boat as last year- needing a BET win to get a spot.

As far as Syracuse- right now they're projected to be a final end of year 21-10 team with about a 28 RPI. That's good but not elite or great. 6 or 7 seed in the NCAA tourney.

Sounds about right, last year they were 10-8 in conference 9-3 OOC and were mid-late 50s rpi entering the BET I believe. This year their schedule is a lot better so 43 RPI makes sense.

And for Syracuse a 28 RPI is great or even elite by SJU standards lol.

Providence and Creighton both eliminated for the next few weeks. Butler now needs to win and a team like SJU, Gtown, or SHU needs to step up in the next week. Disappointing week so far.

Have to believe SJU will be ranked next week. Handing Syracuse their first nonconference home loss in 7 years should do the trick.

As a SJU fan I'm so happy we finally beat Cuse and also have a shot at being ranked for the first time in four years.

Overall pretty solid week for the conference as long as the last few games go as planned. Rough start with Providence and Creighton falling off but Butler and Nova played very well.

Nova should be ranked around 6th or 7th next week. Butler will of course still be ranked. As for SJU....

Teams ranked 15-25 who lost this week:
#15 Miami lost to Green Bay. Don't think they'll drop out the rankings though.
#16 WVU lost to LSU. Don't think they'll drop out of the rankings.
#17 Michigan lost to NJIT. This is their second loss and they don't have a huge win. I think they should be out.
#18 Arkansas lost @ #20 iSU. Probably won't drop out just lose some ground. Again though, they don't have a big time win.
#19 Michigan State lost @ ND and now has 3 losses. I think they should be out.
#20 Iowa State is safe.
#21 Maryland lost to #7 UVA. I could see them dropping out of the rankings.
#22 Oklahoma is safe.
#23 Butler is safe.
#24 Illinois lost @ #15 Miami. Should be knocked out they don't have big time wins.
#25 Utah is safe.

WVU and Arkansas play games they should win tomorrow.

SJU should be ranked on Monday. There's at least a few open spots available.

Even if we aren't ranked I'm fine with it, just feels great to beat Cuse and this will be a special year.

Arkansas just dropped a game to an average Clemson team. They will be out, hopefully making room for SJU.

Same Clemson team that lost to Rutgers, no?
