Welp, we went 3-2, sorry guys. Mack really is awful.

Can't believe XU is going to lose to the same team they just beat by 23 a couple of weeks ago. I thought the loss to UTEP was an aberration, but I might have been wrong.

Please. It's a rebuilding team in November. Of course they're going to be inconsistent.

I know of a former Matta assistant who might be available next season.

It's really hard to beat a team you crushed earlier a second time in a matter of weeks. The team who won that game doesn't have to spark or motivation to perform and the team who was beaten badly has extra motivation to repay the favor.

I would often agree, but when you beat them by 23 points, I feel like the second meeting should have the same result.

I didn't watch the game so I can't honestly say how hard X played, but based on the result of last time and today, I just can't believe that they gave the same effort today as they did earlier this season.

Looking at what the two teams have done to this point of the season it seems to me today's result is a lot closer to the truth about their relative merits than the first one.

well end of Nov and only 12 losses. Not a bad month at all. still got 2 undefeated and 7 teams with 0-1 losses. Light years better than last year..

The positives to me this month-
Villanova 6-0 and should be 7 or 8 this week. I think this was crucial.
Seton Hall 5-0
PC, Creighton 6-1 (and Dunn's shoulder seems ok- which is HUGE!)
Butler 5-1(and maybe ranked this week)
DePaul only 1 loss

the negatives to me this month-
Xavier and Georgetown with 2 losses already. Putting themselves in a position where if they lose a 3rd or welp 4th OOC game, going to have to have a real good conference season to have a shot to make the tourney. Xavier with 3 real losable games- Alabama, Missouri, and Cincy(even Auburn to some degree). Georgetown with 2 in Kansas and Indiana. You don't want to go into conference play with 3 OOC losses. Not necessarily the teams you wanted to have 2 losses already quite frankly.
3 bad losses conference wide. Just as many as last year this point.

The I don't know what to make of them department-
Marquette. bad loss to Omaha, but then goes 2-1 in Orlando. if they win the games they should, worst case enters conference play 8-5(or same as last year).

Letsgonova wrote:No idea. Jay always plays one cupcake down there, I guess to help the team get used to the sight lines and game day schedule at Wells Fargo. We will probably make more $ playing down there vs a Pavilion game, too.

Delaware might not score 30 in this game, and not because our D is great. They are 351/351 nationaly in FG percentage, and I think that number is going down after this one. Yikes.

For big games where they sell out the Wells Fargo Center, I'm sure they do make more money than they would at the Pavillion. But against a cupcake, I highly doubt it. The revenue itself may be higher due to the greater capacity, but I can't see UDel drawing enough of a crowd to offset the additional expense of the rent paid to the WFC and still profit more than a game at the Pavilion.

Getting used to the schedules and sight lines makes some sense.
