Hoping for wins by "Butler/Hoyas", XU, PC, Creighton. St John's has a good shot, maybe a tossup. Marquette may have difficulties.

afternoon:
2pm, Butler vs Georgetown. (Atlantis).
3:30pm, Xavier vs UTEP. (Wooden).
4pm, Yale at Providence.
PC <--- without Dunn and Lindsey

night
7pm, #10 Gonzaga vs St John's. (MSG).
8:30pm, #23 Creighton vs Ole Miss. (Emerald, in Niceville, FL).
9pm, Marquette vs #20 Michigan State. (Atlantis).

thoughts:
Butler vs GU is considered non-conference. Nice to watch a game without pressure.

Xavier should continue rolling out in Fullerton vs Texas El Paso.

Providence will be playing without Kris Dunn and Jalen Lindsey, and Yale is a decent team, so I'm kinda nervous.

St John's is playing the red hot #10 Zags, but the Johnnies are at home, and I think they're just unstable enough and out-of-control enough to give Gonzaga problems. Just remember to guard that Wiltjer kid tight.

Edit: ---> I thought CU was at Ole Miss, but Creighton is playing Ole Miss in Florida, so their chances of taking this game improved even more. It would be nice to get another SEC win.

Marquette has a rough assignment Friday night vs Michigan State, might be asking a lot of MU... we're playng with house money on this game, low pressure.

Keep up the good work, and consider starting a novena on the Friars' ankles...!

If I'm Lavin, I put Pointer on Wiltjer. Also Jordan was a 5* recruit coming out of HS. Would like to see him atleast match Pangos.
And gotta get out on their shooters, guard against the three ball.

Butler defeats Georgetown 64-58.

Have to admit I am a bit surpised at the outcome - credit to Butler. It's just too bad the event oragnizers couldn't have had some type of override in place to prevent two Big East team from meeting in the event.

Agreed. It's too bad that they couldn't have swapped UNC and Butler.

They tried, but Butler didn't cooperate on Wednesday.

They did put them at two ends of the bracket. So, they did meet untill the final day. Hey, it's was the Big East on ESPN with their top tv crew.

Only got to watch the last 5 minutes of the X game but f---, what happened to X's defense? Sorry Big East'ers, we will have to redeem ourselves by winning the rest of the non-con schedule. Go Johnnies, Go Marquette!
