Good game in college football tonight on FS1!

A game that looked better 2-3 weeks ago before WVU lost 2 in a row I think and KSU lost to TCU.

Going up against KC/Oakland in the NFL so that's not much competition.

I didn't even think or care about the NFL Network game as competition. Duke/UNC on ESPN is competion. NFL fans will watch the NFL and college die-hards will watch college. Yes, the NFL game will win in ratings.

I think the NFL games have hurt the college ratings considerably this fall. There are a lot of football fans who would used to have watched college but now that the nfl is on watch nfl a lot more(fantasy,gambling).

And looking- the numbers REALLY bare it out.
last year only had 4 weeks where they didn't get 2 million viewers. 1 night(the Stanford/Oregon and Oklahoma/Baylor)- both ESPN and FS1 got over 2 million.

this year only 3 weeks have the viewers been over 2 million. 1 was the Auburn/Kansas St game. 1 was FSU/Louisville. 1 was a 10:30pm kickoff. The overall average viewersis down from 2.43 mil to 2.21 mil this year.

meanwhile for the NFL- for the CBS part of the package- went from a 5.6 rating/9 million viewers to 10 rating/16 million viewers.

Tonight FS1 may have a real shot given the NFL game is absolute crap as is the ESPN game.

Creighton vs. Oklahoma got a decent rating at 143K viewers and 0.1 rating. I think it's the highest rated Big East game so far this year. Should be eclipsed by Kansas vs. Georgetown in a couple weeks.

Noticed that Fox is broadcasting ads featuring Big East players. First one I noticed was Alex Barlow (for the game vs. Northwestern) and now DSR (for the Radford game). I'm sure it's pretty cool for the players.

OK, I realize I will be blasted, but I find it humorous that people are rooting for a TV Network. I root for the Stock Market to go up and gas prices to go down. Following network ratings isn't on my list. I watch what I want to watch and don't give a darn what network it's on.
