Might as well just win them all.
Nebraska by birth, Creighton by choice.

I think that Creighton and Cincy are in the Emerald Coast tourney. If so Creighton should win against UC handily. I saw a part of the UC game on TV last night and they are as close to nothing as possible. They played N Carolina Central, a school I have never heard of, and won by a small margin. They have one decent rebounder, one decent forward who happens to be a freshman and no one at guard who can score with any regularity. Their offensive plan seems to be to have 4 players on the outside and to pass the ball among those players until the clock gets to 2 or 3 seconds and then shoot from 20 or 30 feet. No real set plays were evident. Creighton will win by at least 15 points. The only reason it may not be greater is the one thing that UC does fairly well is play defense.

X should beat UC by at least 20 this year. I am looking forward to that game.

NC Central isn't a bad team, they played North Carolina close in their opener (That was a single-digit game with 3 or 4 minutes left.) and they will probably win their conference again this year. The more telling game for Cincinnati is that they scraped by against Eastern Illinois - the squad that Creighton played last night and I believe literally would have beaten by 60 if Coach Mac hadn't opted for extended rest for the starters.

The Creighton/UC matchup would be very interesting. I'm not sure UC is as bad as you are making them out to be. This is just how they are under Cronin. They win UGLY. They know they can't score so they shorten the game and play extremely tough defense. I actually think they are kind of a bad matchup for a more "finesse" team like Creighton. Not saying Creighton won't/shouldn't win, just saying it's not something I would count on just because they only snuck by lesser opponents.

Agreed. They are the kind of team that forces you to slug it out and their pace will get under the skin of opponents who like to run and push the tempo. We struggled with that last year and lost multiple games where the tempo was slow (5 out of 7 losses were in games with fewer than 65 possessions). I'm encouraged by the fact that we've played teams like that this year and are more prepped for it than in the past. NC Central was right at 65 possessions (more than they wanted) and Eastern Illinois was at 61 (would have been more if our starters had played longer), so we've shown we can adjust to slow down teams pretty well, but Cinci will be doing it with better athletes than those teams.

Cinci will be a good challenge for us before starting on the rest of the schedule. We are sure to see teams that use that strategy as the season goes on.

Al McGuire: "What is this?"
Waiter: "Mr. McGuire, that is a cull lobster. Sometimes when the lobsters are in the tank, they fight. This one lost a claw."
Al McGuire: "Well then take this one away and bring me the winner."
