Didn't think we would get ranked but I'll take it.

It merely means that the coaches were wishin' and hopin' all the media talk of CU's demise was true. After all Creighton was a 1-man team last Season-according to many "experts".

The Jays are as "deserving", as worthy as any team out there (Miami, WVU, Michigan, etc.) this early in the season. No need for apologies. Just win Jays, Just win. The rest will fall in line.

I think there is some definite conscious effort by the voters to send that message this year. I think after last year the media had all their opportunities to throw punches and they didn't hold back... wore themselves out with it. I think the country is more ready to get on the Big East (and FS1) bandwagon. All small great schools without all the smelly football prejudices, the Big East name, new network and old pedigree.

Let's face it, a 32-2 (or 34-2 whatever it is) start is going to garner some respect. We are beating the teams we are supposed to and have won our tussles with other ranked schools or those from the "Power 5." Even ESPN last night during the Nova game was admitting the Big East as being a conference that could be tough. Granted it was Mr. Blunt Dan Dakich and Jeff Gordon (who I think would have had Dougie's children last year if he could have), but still. There may be some fatigue as well from other media sources and writers as far as the constant ESPN bs about not just the Big East in general but non-ACC/Big 10 schools. Maybe we are starting to see that media shift and hopefully FS1 is gaining some steam as well.

As for Creighton. There really hasn't been a lot of upsets of high profile teams yet this season. There has been some great games between Ranked teams but nothing really comparative to what Creighton did to Oklahoma. Was that really enough to raise Creighton to where they are, well have to see?

We will see very soon.

Creighton has

ole Miss
(Maybe) cincinatti
Tulsa (Tulsa blew out auburn last night)
Nebraska
Saint Mary's

If they deserve to stay ranked, they will. Simple as that. We will see soon

Yep. Tough stretch coming up. I don't see a game on there that's as tough as Oklahoma was. But those are 5 good teams, and I won't be shocked if we drop more than one of them. @ Nebraska is going to be a tough task. Not because they are necessarily world-beaters, but because they have a great home court advantage, and it's a rivalry game.

I could also see Cincy or Tulsa giving us issues. We'll see. I think regardless of what happens in that 5-game stretch, the Jays have started off better than just about anyone expected. We've gone from being picked 9th in the league to ranked #23 in two weeks. I'll take it.

Also, the Big East looks pretty salty right now. Villanova, Xavier, Providence, Georgetown, Creighton, St. Johns, Seton Hall and Butler all look capable of having very good years. This is exactly what the league needed in year #2. And the media is taking notice. Great news.

When espn analysts can't help but compliment the big east, you know we are making a mark. Today and tomorrow are huge days for the big east. Gtown plays Florida, St. John's plays MINNY, butler plays UNC, nova plays michigan. Big games. Hopefully our good streak continues

Good work Creighton. Pleasant surprise I expected a pretty down year. I'd imagine playing in front of that huge and energetic crowd every home game is a big advantage. Looking forward to CU being an anchor of this conference for years to come.
