Strange. Court storming and the players and coach act like they beat a #1 team? They need to start acting like they've been here before. Just another day in the office.

In all fairness though, creighton played a hell of a game and deserve to celebrate. Start acting like a big shot and act like games like this are common place well then it's going to hurt bad when they start losing to teams they're not suppose to lose too.

Team was picked 9th in the league. Huge comeback win over a top 20 team. Let them enjoy it for chrissakes.
Nebraska by birth, Creighton by choice.

I know. You should probably read this thread from beginning. I was directing that sarcasm at chicagojayfan and ljay about not being so uptight about fans and players celebrating a well deserved victory. This board needs a sarcasm font.

don't really see anything wrong by them doing what they did. Awesome comeback win- not going to find a better one just about all year long pretty much. Also think the Creighton players are in a lot more pressured situation than we realize in some ways- losing a legend like Greg- you are asked constantly about that I'm sure. Now to come back and win the 1st real game w/o him- especially with all the adversity they experienced both early and then right at the start of the 2nd half(thought they were going to get blown out quite frankly)- it's a season changing type of win quite frankly.

Looking big picture- now if they can split the 2 tourney games, Tulsa, and Nebraska- all the other OOC games are real winnable- they would be 11-2 OOC. Add just 9-9 OOC and Creighton is at that magical 20 win mark. Go any better in the 4 tough OOC games coming up- and it's 21 or 22 wins and an easy tourney bid.

Great win for the league. A lot of people, myself included, underestimated this team.

I think something that the new 3 schools bring that the C7 might lack is the underdog mentality. Our programs seem to always have a chip on our shoulders, with that emotion helps emphasize home court advantage.

A lot of truth in that statement. I think the three of us are used to having to fight for everything due to previous conference affiliations. Truth is that we are proud programs that just didn't have the same opportunities to get our stories out.

Creighton fans are ecstatic to be in the Big East.

As far as storming the court goes, I will take an excited student section over an apathetic one any day. Creighton doesn't have the luxury of having 10-20 thousand students, they have about 7-8,000. I don't care what gets them excited, anything to keep them coming. As far as the players go, who thought they would win this game? Not many, get excited that you beat a team the experts said you couldn't beat. That being said, this isn't the most important game of the season, enjoy it tonight and move on.

Think that's a pretty fair statement. Also would say for Creighton, due to their conference before- they got stuck a couple times as 10/7/8 seeds which lampooned any shot of a deep tourney run as they had to see a 1-2 seed real early in the tourney- something that didn't happen to Butler or Xavier anywhere near as much.

Hey jays fans! You're good as hell. Thanks for the legitimacy.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

So, about the game...

Oklahoma shot way too many jumpshots. In the first half they hit a ton of them, but usually that's unsustainable. They had a lot of offensive putbacks in the first half, but the Jays seemed to focus on securing the boards in the second. And OU had no inside game.

During Creighton's 22-2 run, it seems like CU scored on 10 straight possessions. Just an awesome display. Plus a bunch of different Jays can hit threes, including their big men. Truly is "Shooter U"...!

Outstanding work. Glad i was able to catch the game...!

Also, I'm glad i picked Creighton to win. Part of the reason was to provide a shot of optimism to this board; but knowing a little about Oklahoma, and doing a little research on them, i thought the general framework favored our Creighton compadres... from their crowd size and the lift it would bring, to CU's shooting ability and their ability to score points quickly, to their great guard play, to the Oklahoma schedule and results over the past couple of years, to OU's susceptibility to getting torched by guards (Gibbs had 26 for Seton Hall last year vs OU, and Mobley and Gibbs combined for 6 threes)... and seriously, the Sooners have done little OOC and next to nothing on the road.

By the way, Gonzaga is beating St Joe's 75-28, with 8 minutes left. I had been 64-19.
