If it's so easy for these GTown players then why did they do so bad last season? Smith is a head case and wont last the entire season. If you're counting on him you're already screwed.

Obviously I am biased as a Xavier fan, but I think I am stating this somewhat objectively. After having watched every team in the Big East play at least one game (I know, i need a life), I really do believe Xavier has the most talented roster. They might not be #1 this year because of Villanova's experience, but they will be next year.

Did you watch last night? He isn't struggling to go up and down the court.

Um this is an entirely different team than last year. We have 4 new players that are playing meaningful minutes, 5 if you include Smith. Smith is going to be just fine. Just wait and see.

Xavier does have a soft schedule. I think Xavier just played the best team of their non-conference schedule. Long Beach State is for real.

Missouri and Auburn are both bad. Missouri lost to UMKC at home and Auburn got smoked by Colorado.

Welp, let's just not play the season since we already know that the only competitive teams are going to be Nova, G'Town, and X.

But I mean, come on man, THEY ARE GEORGETOWN. They are automatically going to be good. The players just need to roll out of bed.

Sorry Fly. I must have forgot about that.

Few things to note with regards to scheduling

Pros:
1. Mid-majors we scheduled are very good: Murry St. LBSU, Stephen F. Austin etc.
2. Unlike the A-10, conference games actually help our RPI now

Cons:
1. The P5 teams we scheduled unfortunately seem to be having down years
2. Our tourney isn't great this year (Wooden Legacy)

Murray State, Long Beach State, FGCSU, and SF Austin are all in Joe Lunardi's bracket currently, and are picked to win their respective conferences. They might not be your 'name' programs, but would be very solid wins.

Outside of those solid mid majors we have: @ Auburn, @ Missouri, @ UC, and Alabama at home. Not the greatest in the world, but with the Gavitt tip-off next year, and the potential for the BigEast vs Pac12 deal, and the Old Spice tourney it will greatly improve next season.

All in all, Xavier just needs to win. Good Luck to Creighton tonight, get those Sooners.

Hard to tell who is "legit" and who is not at this point IMO. I liked what I saw from XU. I liked what Prov. showed in flashes. Haven't seen SHU or SJU or CU play yet so I can't comment on them. I don't think anyone can say anything definitively at this point either way. Everyone is just expecting that Nova is going to win the league, and DePaul is going to suck. Neither are a given by any stretch at this point. Let's revisit before conference games start.

Didn't LBSU have some difficulty getting to the game? Could that have accounted some for their lackluster defensive effort, or do you expect XU to score in the 90's on a regular basis?
Go Nova!
