Last time I saw a coach do this, it didn't end well.

I don't like Butler, but wishing the best for them and their fans.

Lavin did it and he has fully recovered.

It's two fold. As a person, yes Lavin has fully recovered. HOpefully it won't come back ever....

But as a program, has the program gotten back to where it was? That season was almost a complete waste, and even after he got back- it's not been where it was before he left.

Where was it? We had just made our first NCAA in almost a decade and then lost the entire team to graduation. The season was a complete waste anyway since we only had 6 scholarship players on deck. We all knew that was going to happen. I don't know what you're talking about here. We were garbage before he got here and now were mid-pack/contender.

If its a mental health thing (which it seems to be) here is to hoping he doesn't let the stigma get to him. He can use his platform to be an advocate like Brandon Marshall.

Twitter reports that Brandon Miller may be replaced by Professor Bulldog. The rumor is as yet unconfirmed.

It sounds more and more like the guy either cant deal with stress or simply doesnt want to be away from his family as much as the job requires rather than some sort of mental health issue. If the same problem is what caused him to resign as an assistant at Ohio St, the Butler AD should have never considered him in the first place.

What hasn't been stressed enough is that Coach Miller abandoned his position as Head Coach on the recruiting trail for an extended period of time. If one is physically ill he should notify his employer he can't perform your duties. If one is mentally ill he should notify his employer. If one is abusing substances protocol should be in place for co-workers and student athletes to report incidents to the Athletic Department and the University. Where was Butler University? Where was Collier? How could the AD not know the Head Coach wasn't recruiting? I'm a HUGE Barry Collier fan but it appears he erred in a big way on this one.

For the Brandon Miller faithful who are pleading we all wait until all the facts eventually surface: Under what set of circumstances would it be acceptable to have your Head Coach quit on the job three full months before requesting a medical leave of absence?

Per Michael Pointer, the Butler Insider reporter on the Indianapolis Star, prized recruit Sean McDermott from Pendleton Heights IN said today he is solid on Butler and will sign his LOI on November 1. McDermott also said he was given the same information from the Athletic Department as everyone else. McDermott is Dunham's eventual replacement.

Prized? Okay. So he decided to stay with Butler and not accept one of his offers from Indiana State, Illinois State or New Orleans.

Look, we need for Butler to be successful in this conference. We need every team in this conference to step it up. There is no reason to try to candy coat this. Instability at the head-coaching position is one thing, but if he truly has been away from the job, especially on the recruiting front, that's just not good.

Do you consider Sean McDermott a "prized" recruit when it comes to playing in the Big East?

The offers don't accurately reflect his ability or the interest that was coming. He had a staph infection during his junior year. He was out for 2 months and lost 15 lbs (already a skinny guy). Since coming back and playing well in the spring, he had interest from a number of other schools including Purdue, Indiana, Nebraska and Clemson, etc., etc., There seemed to be concern that Purdue would step in at the last minute. He may not be an all-star, but looks to have the right frame and skills to fit their offense very well. So I wouldn't describe him as "prized", but I think he is legit.

Oh my, let me reword this...."One stiff, whom we really don't want, said he was solid for Butler. That's too bad, cause Xudash knows he isn't any good based on what he read on the Internet."

Really? Have you seen him play? Have you talked to anyone who has? Do you know about the medical issues in his junior year? Do you have any idea of what you are talking about?

Do you? You're the one who referred to him as a prized recruit. Who else is joining him in that class?
