Interesting slide show from Newsday about our rough decade or so. Those who aren't familiar with SJU or how we came to be to the point where we are should take a look at all we've been through. It's not easy being a Johnny fan. haha

Just for the record I was at six of the games referenced in this article. haha

St John's insiders please help me with this. I'm looking at their roster and practically the whole team will be gone at the end of this upcoming Basketball season.

D'Angelo Harrison (eligibility)
Rysheed Jordan (draft)
Chris Obekpa (draft)
Phil Greene IV (eligibility)

I'm looking at their roster and practically the whole team will be gone. The only players of note remaining for 2015-2016 season are Jamal Branch , Adonis Delarosa & Keith Thomas. I don't see any 2015 signed as of yet. Is this correct? I read they are still involved with 2015 recruits Beasley, Isaiah Briscoe, Brandon Sampson, Tyler Dorsey, Cheick Diallo and Dupree. Are their any reasonable (75% chance) potential signings in the pipeline??

St. John's have to be relevant for the Big East to truly make noise. Does Lavin already know this is his last year? Is the 2015-2016 season is as bleak as it seams. If so, DePaul will not be the bottom dweller for a while anymore.

Pretty sure Branch will be gone too due to graduation. Played one year( 1/2 year) at Texas AM before transferring to St. John's. Played last two years at St. John's already, this should be his last year. Pointer will also be gone as well.

No, we have guys that will be around but the class we are recruiting for 2015 will be a major part moving forward. We've always knew this though. We lost our entire team to graduation and 1 transfer after Lavins first season so we knew we'd have a lot to replace when all of those kids graduated and left.

We have four seniors, Dlo, Greene, Branch, Dom Pointer. Lets not push Jordan and/or Obekpa out the door yet. If either or both of them return than the task is much less daunting. But you are correct, there will be some holes to fill for sure.

As for the recruits, st johns is in the top 5 for 3 blue chip recruits. Isaiah Briscoe, Cheik Diallo, and Brandon Sampson. The latter 2 will be in for official visits during midnight madness. Not even close to a sure thing that well get any of them but we are positioned nicely for some good pieces.

Jordan is 100% leaving. He made a post after the season that this upcoming one is his last because he wants to "feed his family". He literally said he's gone after this year.

He says a lot of stuff. That's not a decision you make in the fall.
