I wonder what top 8 were for:

1. Profit?
2. Profit per school?

Our costs must have been lower based on 85 grants in aid for football that we did not need to offer. Probably BE had at least better profits than AAC and MWC. Not better than power 5 however. At least that's my guess.

Just to compare non-football conferences let me list the A-10 which finished 10th overall.

10. Atlantic 10
Bowl Games: $0 million
NCAA Tournaments: $11.5 million
TV Deals: $5 million
Total: $16.5 million

As you can see the big difference is our FOX contract. Were it not for the FOX contract the A-10 would be ahead of us. With the contract they will never catch up.

Don't forget, their revenue is divided by almost twice as many schools.

Wow, kind of shows you why the Power 5 is the Power 5. Not hard to see the hard line between those with mucho $$ and those without. Almost a 4X factor between #5 and #6.

This. If the A10 wants to improve itself nationally, they need to shed the dead weight and get the remaining good non football schools into their league. That and pray that the Big East doesn't decimate the league by taking two or three of their strongest teams.

A10 has 14 schools now, so it's not double by any stretch..

One thing as well- they're already in year 3 of the 8 year deal. So eventually they will get another deal. and who knows what they'll get then..

Defend all you want:
Big East - $50M / 10 schools
A10 - $16M / 14 schools

Apples and oranges.

I wonder how much of an impact it would have if you included income from attendance.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
