Some potentially bad offseason news for Remy & X.
@XUNation: Remy Abell went down in Summer League play today with an apparent knee injury.
@matt_alexander2: Shooting the Deveroes Summer League and XU's Remy Abell is on the ground in pain with a knee injury. Carried off the floor.
@AirJordan: Looks like a potentially serious knee injury for former #iubb guard Remy Abell in summer league action, per @RickBroering
Remy Abell @23Abell: I know I'm fine because it's in God's hands now

Jalen Reynolds pretty much did whatever he wanted scoring 32. Basically pickup games but you get a look at the athleticism of these guys. Montrezl Harrell from Louisville showed up. Asked why, he said he "just wanted to play" and that's basically what summer league is all about.
Can't wait for Georgetown's Summer league to start in a couple weeks. The Kenner League as it's called is one of the most competitive summer leagues around. Always has some NBA players stop in, Usually Georgetown Alums like Jeff Green show up every year, but tons of random people show up too. It's a very big deal. If anyone is in DC they should totally check it out.
Hope Abell is ok.

I love Kenner League too but I don't know about using it to gauge freshmen anymore than the other summer leagues. I believe Reggie Cameron lit it up last year too but not so much during the season. n the other hand Kenner League exposed Domingo's over-hyped range two years ago so who knows. I do think RC will be a big contributor at some point though.
hoyahooligan wrote:It's certainly a mistake to use any summer league to accurately predict a freshman's impact, but I do think Kenner League is more competitive than the average summer league. It's probably a slightly better predictor than other leagues and probably prepares freshman a little better, but again I also would not use it as a predictor.
For what it's worth I did a quick search of our message board and it seems reggies defensive limitations were exposed early on in Kenner and he was hit or miss from 3, so they got that one pretty accurately.
