Worst kept secret here at HLOH is that you SJU fans are the worst lot hands down. Great job reaffirming that status loser.

Ha! Dude, your school shouldn't even be in this league. Thats the worst kept secret here at HLOH. We already have the NYC market handled, so you don't bring a TV market, you have a horrendous athletic program and aren't even that great of a school. What do the Pirates bring to the table? We would be better served with SLU in the conference over the Pirates. At the very least we would get a new TV market in place and a team who can actually win games.

TheHall wrote: If an assistant coach isn't helping on the recruiting front over time they usually get let go. That's just standard business for any school. That's exactly what happened at SJU a few years ago when they let go former Rice hs coach Moe Hicks (IIRC) because he didn't produce recruits. So obviously Morton will have to provide future value to the program as well. Besides right now IW is out there recruiting players for the program, so to say hiring the coach only results in his 2 players is inaccurate. The hire has the potential to impact 2015 & 2016. IW's commitment alone is a recruiting asset for Seton Hall this season and beyond.

I'm amazed at how many non-SHU fans are so concerned about the long term viability of a school based on ASSISTANT COACHING moves. We SHU fans know our program desperately needs short term success to create momentum and that's exactly what's starting to happen :D

Let me preface this by saying that it would be great if this does turn into long-term success for Seton Hall. Whether or not you guys got Whitehead is no skin off of a Butler fan's back, he wasn't considering BU and I think any realistic fan of Butler knows they've got no shot at a highly coveted recruit like that.

It's also great that Whitehead is planning on recruiting guys to come there, but does that really matter if he's not going to be there in 15-16 or the year after? Also, as long as Whitehead is there, or if Rodriguez turns into something special as well, Morton really doesn't need to produce anything on the recruiting trail. Could he anyway? Definitely. But I think anyone realistic enough would tell you that Morton's already made his contributions to the team in delivering Whitehead and his buddies. Anything else he can give them in terms of in-game coaching or recruiting is just gravy. The school also knows it's walking a fine line with this eventual hire, which is why they're going to the lengths they are to make it appear the two (or three I guess in this case) aren't connected. It's been done before, and as long as you can get away with doing it and turn it into long-term success, there's absolutely no reason not to.

If you're Willard or Seton Hall, it's a great move. The team gets a ton of talent, the Coach probably gets another year or two beyond this coming season, because the last thing you want to do if you're Seton Hall now is to see these guys leave because of a coaching change and it excites the fan base. Now all that's left to do is win, and we'll find out soon enough if Seton Hall is able to do that. Again, not jealous at all (I mean it'd be nice if Butler had that talent, but it's not very realistic at the current time), and good luck to you guys this year and beyond.

Wow that got ugly fast. Bottom line: both teams need to get their sh!t together. We need a deep league where everyone contributes. If we only have 4 teams that battle for tourney births year in and year out, then the league will never blossom. The net of it is that both SHU and SJU need to get something going. SJU had gotten the talent but not had the results. Maybe this year will be addition by subtraction with them. SHU is getting the talent but I believe they are another 2 years away if the core stays around. Why don't you both agree that your schools need to get a tourney win within the next 3 years or else both need to start over. Start there. 1 tourney win and then you can throw all the stones you want at each other from that point on.

Another poster who should be happy his school got in the conference when they did. This is old school animosity between two schools that are closer to each other than Dayton and X. Don't concern yourself with us.

Anywho, you can continue to have these public tantrums anytime anyone questions Seton Hall. We're still going to beat you and you're still going to be the scrubs of the league. Hey at least you'll be above DePaul!

If you had a program you were proud of I'm sure you wouldn't be so annoyed by what's going on in Jersey, but you don't. Anyway who cares what SJU fans think about Seton Hall lol.

Yes Seton Hall sponsors very few sports and are bad at most of them, but they did win Men's and Women's Diving, women's golf, Championships this year and their baseball team made the final 4 of the BET. So they actually won 1 more BE championship than St. John's did. So watch out about the pot calling the kettle black.

Redmen I think you might actually be retarded. You are aware aware that St Johns and Seton Hall and Creighton all sponsor six male sports. They all have baseball, basketball, golf and soccer. SHU also has cross country, swimming and diving. SJU has lacrosse and tennis. Six each. Also St John's only sponsors one more sport so they have 9 to SHU 's 8.

Just to let you know, that kinda sucks (being in that position). At least now, there isn't much mention of it around here anymore.

Also for all the St Johns fans who want to talk about SHU doing shady tactics for recruiting, the Johnnies are the favorite to land Dominic Artis. He is the transfer from Oregon who was kicked off the team for GANG RAPING a girl with two teammates. He also was suspended for selling school equipment on ebay. So get off your damn high horse.

Recruiting a POS and "bending" recruiting rules are the same thing now?
