I think it will be a rude awakening once he sees the massive difference playing top 25-50 teams and now playing in a place with crappier facilities and facing #200-300 teams. And yet when CBS sports.com wrote an article 2 years ago showing the results of college coaches who were asked who they perceived as the most dirty recruitment. "To my knowledge, he didn't want to transfer," Davis said. "When he found out that his dad was sick, that's when he made the decision that he wanted to leave. On Obekpa: Everyone around his recruitment knew he had very shady handlers looking for that Nike money. I believe UC did recruit him pretty heavily but about a month or so before his decision I was told that the staff backed off because of the people around him (realizing they were playing with fire). That is why he took that late visit to Oregon right before committing to St. Johns. That is a confirmed fact. Steven Lavin is known as one of the dirtiest recruiters.

What are you talking about, "didn't receive much PT"?

He played 15 mpg as a freshman. That's pretty reasonable even for a 5* freshman when he joins a big time program with depth. Lots of big time players have seen less PT as freshman.

My point is that there are specific instances I can point to with IW and JL's recruitments that were dirty. I can specifically say it's floating around that JL's handlers demanded thousands of dollars just for the chance to speak with them and JL. That's a specific example. I have heard no specific examples regarding Lavin or Obekpa. Again, it makes sense that he came to SJU...his HS he played at is only 45 minutes or so from Queens. And he'd get bigger exposure here.

You said Obekpa's handlers wanted Nike money...what does that even mean? Be specific. He also almost left the program but decided to stay at the last second. He sounds more like a kid who has a hard time making decisions than a dirty recruitment.
