Informative article. Thanks for posting it. Villanova's clearly the team to beat. Georgetown has the most pieces of any of the challengers.

I think Marquette will be back as a challenger for the title with their new Head Coach Wojo. I wouldn't doubt DePaul either once they move into their 10,000 seat Near South Side, Chicago arena (McCormick Place Events Center) likely for sometime during the 2016-2017 college basketball season (hopefully before the season begins). It will not only have all DePaul Men's Basketball games, women's basketball conference games, commencements, convocations, as well as medium sized trade shows and concerts. It looks very stunning. I really hope the Big East eventually adds Saint Louis (former DePaul and Marquette rivals from their days in C-USA) and Dayton (big rival of current member Xavier).

Seton Hall still has a ton of question marks. Will IW even live up to his huge expectations? It's more likely that they were overhyped as recruits. The only seemingly sure things are top 5 kids nationally. IW was 25 or 30 I think...there's no guarantee. They are bringing in freshmen...SJ had a ton of the top freshmen in 2012 and look how that worked out. Seton Hall is far from a contender until they prove it. Also, you give PC way too much credit. Cotton took the team on his back scoring 30 each game. They have no one else like that.

1. Nova
2. G'Town
3. Xavier
4. Marquette
5. St. John's
6. PC
7. Seton Hall
8. Creighton
9. Butler
10. DePaul

The problem I see is teams especially 5-9 they are so close to 3 and 4 even that I see no separation- maybe even worse than this year quite frankly! I think 3 and 4 will be once again at 10-8 or maybe best case 11-7. Really tough to get a good seed in the NCAA tourney with 11-12 losses.

7-9 Butler, Creighton, Marquette

I think Marquette is way too high in your rankings. I have no clue with in those 2 groups, but I think there's a gap between the first 4 and the bottom 3.

Great logic: My program has underachieved since 2012 therefore your program is going to be just as inept. Underachieving isn't necessarily contagious within a conference. SJHooper your pathetic attempts at trying to belittle SHU's future is similar to the story about the boy trying to plug the damn with his fingers & toes, your argument is falling apart. Seton Hall is on the rise whether you can admit it or not. However it is quite enjoyable watching all the haters from SJU such as yourself continue to have these public tantrums.
