I'd be more concerned if I were the AAC or Mountain West. They don't get the same amount of money to compete in football like the Big 5. Basketball is such a smaller expense.

one might argue that the BE and A10 have a better shot at an inviation from the P5. tHE p5 can claim they arent foricng anyone out. "afterall we have non fb conferences in our group!" "Its up to the MWC and AAC to join if they like".
The reality of course is that it might be cost preventative for some schools with FB to comply

I agree, I think we are actually in good shape if things start to move towards a split. We would improve their BBall tournament and don't mess with their precious FB money.

Now back to who the B1G might add for schools 15 & 16, I think UVA is the lynch pin. They won't move unless they can get them on board. After that they have two options, UNC or UConn. I think UNC is their first option since they bring a bigger state, it's Delany's Alma Mater and they would be considered a big "get". UConn as the fall back option to lock up the Tri-State area.

IMO all of the B1G adds have been head turners or "wow choices" (including Penn St back in the day)
Nebraska due to it football heritage and national recognition
Maryland because thye got a "southern" (sort of) school away from the ACC
Rutgers because I think few saw that coming. I think many were like " what? the picked rutgers ? " Lets face it the performance of Rutgers in FB and BB hasnt' been exceptional

I think should the B1G expand again it will be with more headline grabbing choices. Texas fits that category but I dont hink its likely. UVA and UNC do as well but i think they are perfectly content where they are.
Kansas and Missouri are probably "expected" by most people so that may hurt them. Wouldnt make the "splash" Delany would want
I believe the B1G wants a flag in New York state. The candidates are obviously slim. Buffalo fits in everyway except athletic success. That can change.
Can you imagine the coverage should Buffalo aka University of New York get the nod?
That of course would open the door wider for UConn and help the B10 in the northeast

I dont think however the B1G will expand anytime soon at least 5-10 years
