If it's "only one game" why has Cuse/JB been trying their damnedest to get this one game back...It's not Gtown banging on their door. I also bet you don't see Hoya fans starting threads on ACC boards trying to drum up support...eeerrr take the pulse of cuse fans for renewing the game.

Jump to (wrong) conclusions much? I'm just taking the argument that Syracuse isn't at death's door as others here seem to make them out to be. Syracuse has been our best rivalry game throughout recent history and I'd like to keep that going.
The idea that Syracuse needs a life raft is ridiculous. They play in probably the top basketball league in the country and get huge exposure through ESPN.
When Boeheim retires they certainly may make a bad hire but it wouldn't kill the program. They can always fire him and hire a new guy. With the transfer landscape as it is, it only takes 2 years to rebuild a roster when you have the sort of resources Syracuse has.
I think you are severely overrating the effect on recruiting that playing one game in a city has.

(I'm not really sorry)

It's dumb to think anything but that. If Syracuse views Philly or DC exposure as being important- they will get it, even if Nova/Georgetown don't want it.
I mean, this year Syracuse plays St John's at home. But still will have 2 games in MSG in November. That's the problem that folks here don't want to realize- that there's not a damn thing that we can do to stop that for Syracuse. Also, you can bet in a year where Syracuse isn't playing St John's, and they're doing an exempt tourney in Hawaii or something like that- you're going to find Syracuse in that Jimmy V Classic or something of that kind- that would be at MSG. ESPN will make sure of that.

They can only be in the same pre-season tourney every 4 years i believe. I agree they will find a way into MSG but thats not the same as having a presence. The LIRR Orange Alum like to act like they can pack the place every night, which is not the case. They can sell a bunch of tickets once or twice a year at best. Even this year the crowd at the SJU/Cuse game of 17K was split around 10/7 or 9.5/7.5, with most of the Orange in the upper bowl. It was NOT a sellout and for the first 18 minutes of the second half all the chants were coming from the Johnnies fans.
