He doesn't wanna be in the spotlight. Playing high major basketball scares him. He realized he couldn't compete at the next level and now he wants to hide at a school like Hofstra or Iona.

St. John's is out of the running for Jermaine Lawrence. His list is down to Hofstra, Iona, and Manhattan. I'm guessing that he'll end up at Manhattan.

How did that SHU joke make no sense? SHU has set the bar for lowest bar set just to get a recruit. What other team in the Big East promised to hire a top recruit's coach if he promises to sign with them? This is factual stuff. I was only half joking though.

Lawrence has now added Fordham to his list of schools with plans to visit the campus on Wednesday. Wow! Why can't St. John's get this guy to return a phone call?

My guess is Iona.

He already had targeted Iona and Manhattan, the finalists in the MAAC tournament the past 2 years. So, I'm asking myself, why did he add Fordham?

He obviously wants to play in or near the city. I wonder if he's thinking that the MAAC is just not a high enough level for him to be playing at. Fordham has him playing at a higher level in the A10. Even as. AD as that program has been, He may be convinced that he can be the difference maker.

Just looking at Fordham- they started this year 2 sophmore's and a frosh. 6th man a sophmore. He'd give them a pretty nice front court just looking at it. A10 gets good TV coverage now so that could be a big reason why he would go Fordham instead of Iona/Manhattan.

Oh please…a non-NCAA St. John's team beat Fordham something like 104-64. Fordham is a joke. Looking back, I'm glad he isn't coming. It's very shady and him and his handler want to be treated like divas bigger than the team and he is a bust so far. An epic bust. I'd much rather Thomas and this Carter transfer from G. Tech. If there's anything I've learned, we need less athletes and highly rated recruits and more humble team oriented SKILLED players. Enjoy your irrelevancy JL.

Yeah, the Fordham thing is a head scratcher. Jon Severe is great, but the team has been awful forever... since Tom Penders probably... and like u said, St John's just beat them by 50 in MSG.

I get Fordham is not good now. But my point is that even with that, they still get more tv exposure than Iona or Manhattan. My thought is that's why he may go there over Iona or Manhattan.
