I agree the BE hsa some work to do but its hardly as dire as some would like to believe.
Villanova lost to the eventual champion and the PC/UNC game could have easily gone the other way. Had these 2 won would thay have changed the perception of the BE? i doubt it. All the haters would say something like "Providence got lucky" and "big deal Nova beat a lower seed like UConn"

we should focus on the fact that the BE and B1G have a good thing planned. That should have no bearing on how successful the AAC will or will not be

I know all I said on here was that the Big East has to actually perform on the court- something the AAC and even the A10 has done. To have both of the perceived rivals get teams into the elite 8 while none of the Big East teams did- just not good.

I do disagree with you on if PC and Nova had won. For one- Nova would have gotten then Iowa St(or PC) with a great shot to get into the elite 8. At that point- things are a LOT different. Not saying they'd have beaten Michigan State- but it would have been really good. I think also part of Nova's problem is that they had lost as well to Seton Hall the previous week. That combined effect was just not good. I think if Nova had beaten UConn and gotten to the sweet 16- that changes a lot of the equation. I think if nothing else, we wouldn't have heard the constant refrain of UConn reclaiming MSG.
