A Big Ten-Big East basketball announcement will be made tomorrow at 12:30 at Madison Square Garden, per a league press release.

According to the release, the announcement will be MC'd by Bill Raftery. Speakers include league commishes Val Ackerman and Jim Delany.

Also, some "current and former Big East and Big Ten head coaches will be in attendance and available to the media."


Sounds like some sort of Big East/Big Ten challenge will be taking place...

They'll probably rotate based on which ones aren't expected to be good that year. Some people saying it might be a series of games at MSG.

As a reminder, here are both conference's members. 4 Big Ten schools will likely not be a part of the challenge.

Big East: Butler, Creighton, DePaul, Georgetown, Marquette, Providence, Seton Hall, St. John's, VIllanova, Xavier
Big Ten: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue, Rutgers, Wisconsin

Hopefully it's a full on scheduling alliance that also involves the non-revenue sports. Maybe announce that there will be some permanent cross conference rivalry BBall games being played.
