Maybe she doesn't have control over that, and then I couldn't blame her.

As for other issues, she hasn't done anything impressive or unimpressive. Still waiting on a challenge with a major conference. The best parts of the BE (keeping the name and msg) were in place prior to her coming on.

Overall, if she has control over expansion then 1.5/10. If she doesn't 6/10.

1. Presidents decide on whether they will expand or not.

2. Gonzaga is not now nor have they ever been a realistic option. The 5 eastern schools (and probably some of the midwestern schools) don't want to send all their sports to the west coast. You can't be a BBall only member.

3. SLU and Dayton are more realistic choices going forward.

Seriously, so many posters have no idea what they are talking about, yet want to act like they do. It's ALMOST funny, almost.

You had me until #3, NJ. The statement requires VCU to be in the mix somewhere.

Oh I think VCU is in the mix, I just think and this is going back to when the C7 first broke off that SLU and Dayton were constantly being brought up as possibly joining along with X, BU and CU. I think the Presidents look at those two as option A & B. VCU might be in the mix but I don't think they have the support of the other two schools.

Don't know what this all has to do with "Val," but I have a hard time imagining the league going to 12 teams and having 7 of them in the Midwest unbalanced if you added SLU and Dayton. Just doesn't seem like the natural division situation that would flow from 12 teams would work with that. You'd have to put X or Dayton in the east, and that would be hard.

1. Thanks for clarifying, as I made clear I wasn't sure so I gave my opinion on both scenarios. Because I now know, I'll go with the 6/10 rating.

2. Gonzaga recently said they wanted to be in. It's the Big East presidents who don't want to travel. I thought initially it'd be Gonzaga not wanting to travel as they'd have to do a whole lot more of it. I could get into this but there's an entire thread dedicated to it so let's drop it. I think Gonzaga is a no-brainer while you think the opposite.

3. VCU. And hey, I'd take SLU and Dayton over nothing. But again, that can be discussed in the other thread as it all comes down to personal opinion. Mine is clearly different from yours.

So how exactly do I have no idea what I'm talking about? The only thing in my post I wasn't sure about I blatantly admitted to not knowing. Other than that it is personal preferences on expanding, and I already wrote and read plenty in the expansion thread I made.

Well we wouldn't be going to divisions in basketball so thats not a real problem. Also, I don't think that the geographic issue are as big a deal as people make it out to be. I think the presidents and the AD's and the commish rather get the best two programs who expand our region or lie within it.

It's not just me who thinks it's the opposite of a no brainer, the Presidents and AD's also think it's not doable. Spokane is very very very far from Providence, NYC, South Orange, Philly and DC. It also very very far from Cincinatti, Indianapolis, Milwaukee and Chicago too, but it's only very far from Omaha.

Okay, prove me wrong, explain why you give her a 6/10. What has she done right and what has she done wrong? Show me you know what you're talking about and i'll apologize if you do indeed know what you are talking about.

Lol NJRedman why are you so bitter? I know St. Johns is a disappointment (I'm a student) but you need to relax. I read back through the thread and noticed you saying a bunch of nonsense like people don't like her becauae she's a women, yet you yourself don't explain your own reasons for liking or disliking her.

I'll go first I suppose. I'm by no means an expert. Its a message board not a critical review in the New York Times. I've read several articles about her (nyt being one of them I believe), I've seen her on tv completely unexpected (Bloomberg). I also saw the aac commissioner later that week on the same program and thought he did a better job. Based on what I saw, I give a 6. Nothing special nothing awful. Just decent. But I think most of the important stuff goes on behind the scenes anyways (as I alluded to), so it's hard for anyone not in the know to give a good assessment.

I definitely want to see a major conference challenge and soon. If that happens I'll be happier with her.

I agree, that is one thing she has power to do is get in talks with another power conference and get a challenge set up (PAC-12). It seems like a no-brainer. I'm sure Fox is all for it as well as they own partial rights for the PAC-12. If she gets that set up, I'll be happy. We need to align ourselves with other power conferences. I hope we can get that done for next year but time is running out.

I'm not bitter. Also it isn't nonsense, just look at the title of the thread! "Comiss" Hello! Also if you have been reading the other threads about her some people has said they don't think a woman should be the commish. Yes, people have said that. Sorry if you haven't seen such things, that doesn't mean im making it up.

Who cares how well she conducts an interview, thats not her job. She is a CEO, all I care about is that she can run the day to day operations and build consensus amongst the members when things need to get done. The AAC commish comes from the TV world, so he should be able to interview well.

In regards to the conference challenge, thats another thing thats up to the members. If the members aren't interested then she can't sign them up for one. The commissioner works for the presidents. If they want to do something then the commish works to make it happen. Thats her job, to do what the presidents want the league to do. The same goes for the Pac. If they don't want to have a challenge then there is nothing she can do to make it happen. The Pac has never had a challenge so maybe they just aren't interested in that idea. Also we don't have a even amount of members so we need to convince them that two members not participating is a good thing.
