But I digress from the main point of this thread.

I saw Trevon several times this year. He is 6'4," maybe 6'5" if you squint when reading the tape, forward who has great offensive shooting skills. The kid can flat out score. He played at a 2A high school, which means many of his games were against inferior opponents. He won't impress you with any spectacular dunks or athleticism. His rebounding is okay at best. He was the main man at Park Tudor, so he never was asked to pass the ball. He didn't play much defense nor did he face many good opponents to test his D. [but who plays solid D in HS.] Defense is something that you can pick up at the next level, but you had better be willing to learn fast, or observe from the bench.

Yep, all those scouting ratings systems who had him in the Top 50 (+/-) forgot to call you first before they made their decisions about Blueitt. I'm sure they will promise to do better next time!

Unlike most of those services you subscribe to, I actually saw him play. If you only want sugar coated reports, put me on Ignore.

Show me where these services talks about defense and the quality of opponents. The fact that Blueitt played in Class 2A is no fault of his, but geeze, the talent in 2A that he faced is not the same as 4A or 5A. Is that something you cannot accept? I will add that they did win the Marion County tourney which is a nice accomplishment.

Since I don't have the time to see every high school player in America multiple times, I don't put ratings on players.

Bluiett scored 51 against Trey Lyles and Arsenal Tech 4A State champs and was runner-up to Lyles for Mr. Basketball. His credentials are just as impressive. Played plenty of very good teams. 6th ALLTIME scorer in Indiana Basketball history. He's pretty good. As for the defense, every kid coming to college has to learn it.

Maurice Watson from BU to Creighton. He was #2 in the country in AST% last year.

Ah so someone else who saw Bluiett play! Unfortunate that the Panthers lost that game. If I recall, both teams were playing passive zones, so neither Lyles nor Bluiett were actually pitted against each other.

And it looks like we both agree: As I said he certainly is a great scorer, but as with most HS hoopsters, they aren't asked to defend.

Take a closer look at the Panther's schedule. Coach Cox did a good job in scheduling up for this year's team, but the teams in the Crossroads Conference were not very good. They also had to play in the 2A tourney against teams far inferior, with the exception of Clarksville and Westview which were decent.

Indiana had three pretty good players this year, Lyles, Bluiett and Blackmon. It will be interesting to see how they develop. And even though Blackmon is headed to IU, they got it right in picking Lyles as Mr. Basketball.

It's funny how jumpy people get on this board. You simply say a HS recruit can improve on his defense - or maybe he can play D, but never was asked to show it in HS, and the over-reaction is humorous.

Congrats to Creighton for landing Watson. Some other big name schools were in the mix so I'm very happy to see this kid wants to play in the Big East. Congrats again Creighton!
