for those that say the way too early poll is a joke...

from last year:
#1 Kentucky
#14 UConn
#7 Florida
Wisconsin in the others group

evne go to the elite 8 teams:
#3 Michigan St
#4 Arizona
Michigan in the others group
Dayton not rated

#2 was Louisville, got knocked out by Kentucky. 5/6 was Duke/Ohio St- 2 teams that just never came together this year. 22/25 teams in the top 25 made the tourney. 10/15 of their other teams made the tourny, so of the 40 teams that they had 32 made the tourny(some of the teams in that group- Wisconsin, Villanova, Virginia, San Diego St, Michigan). The 3 misses in the top 25- Marquette(note this was before Blue left), Indiana, and Alabama.

As of right now in the ridiculously early polls for next year, the only Big East team to be ranked in the Top 25 is Villanova. CBSSports #11 ESPN #13. A rebuilding year for the Big East no doubt. Hopefully in the following years this will change.

How is this different from this year? Marquette was #17 in the preseason and that was it. I expect Georgetown, Xavier to find their ways into the polls.

You raise a good point regarding the rule changes that definitely gave Lazar a ton of help that he wouldn't get now days. I know I can vouch for Butler being a bit taller than Hayward as I remember vividly the beginning of a night where I was at a party with them. I know crowder never looked as tall as Butler so 6'6" is believable.

Stop being reasonable I'm trying to hate you. :x ;)

Lol don't worry MU will have another good season sooner or later and I'll go back to my annoyingly cocky self. Till then just gonna be logical and apathetic :P

This is spot on. Not too much different from last year.

Nova is the clear favorite. I'd expect Gtown and Xavier to spend some time in the polls. Outside shot for Providence too I think. They have more questions, but plenty of upside.

Villanova is actually right now about 4-6 spots higher than Marquette was. The difference I think may be in the others group. Creighton entered this year what was is 28th? Nova and Georgetown in the 30's? I think going into next year, Georgetown will be in the 30's but they may very well be the only team in the others receiving votes. It's goign to take some big early wins to get anyone but those 2 in the polls quickly.
