I will be sitting on the couch with my popcorn sponsored by the Big East! You know there will be some very interesting things that come from this regardless of the verdict. I guarantee there was some kind of tampering here by ESPN. One of the worst days in recent memory was pulling up to class at St. John's for my first year of grad school, parking and listening to ESPN NY radio breaking the news that Syracuse and Pitt essentially up and left in the dark of night. My jaw dropped. Part of the reason I chose SJ other than obviously having a good MS program in which I wanted to pursue, was the lore of the Big East. I went to a mid major undergrad school and told myself if I go to grad school and they have a good program I want, it will be a major conference school locally.

From the day I was accepted to SJ to now the Big East lost Cuse, Pitt, WVU, UConn, L'Ville, ND. I remember the first year at Carnesecca Arena looking at the banners seeing schools like Notre Dame, Syracuse, and UConn next to our banner. It felt good. Now it's all gone. I don't know, maybe I'm more emotional about it than other fans but this realignment really pissed me off. It's like buying a Lamborghini then Toyota buys it out. Part of the reason you wanted the Lamborghini is because it was a Lamborghini...Toyota removes that luster. Even though I don't think SJ would have ever been able to seriously compete in the old Big East outside of making a run once or twice a decade, I miss the hype.

I hope the ACC gets no mercy. They destroyed the best hoops conference in America with the help of ESPN. Fox Sports 1 should make their own 30 for 30 film once all the details come out. Nothing would give me more pleasure than seeing the ACC lose this case miserably and watching ACC schools get poached waking up to new headlines each morning. Virginia Tech gone. UNC gone. Georgia gone. FSU gone. Virginia gone. If the ACC implodes I wonder how basketball will be affected. I'm no expert, but why don't the traditional basketball powers join one conference for hoops and if they have a major football team park them in a football conference. Conferences don't have to be one size fits all. Just use multiple ones based on the sport. Screw the ACC and screw ESPN. Please be found guilty.

There's a 1 minute fake commercial on youtube titled "Requiem for the ACC". Very funny. Someone on the Friars message board linked it. When I get to work I'll try to post it (I have trouble posting links from my droid). There was a quote about the ACC which said like "Saying you're the best in October doesn't guarantee success in March"... and Coach K saying "I don't dye my hair..."

You guys just made my day bringing this to my attention hahaha. They took our jerbbbs! New beginnings don't mean the endings will be any different lol...oh man this is hysterical. Let's hope there will be another clip like this if Maryland wins the case and the ACC is being poached then falls apart.
