If it is true, I would think he would listen to a lot of offers if they come his way.

speculation is that Mack does not get along well with administration here at Xavier… I guess some say he is not happy about the Dez Wells situation (the guy that Xavier kicked out ~2 seasons ago, went to Maryland and was eligible immediately per NCAA). Now Dez has a lawsuit against Xavier that will move forward (this was recent news in local paper, Cincinnati Enquirer). Probably more bad press for Xavier to come. Many say Mack was not happy at all that Dez was kicked out.
I was stunned to hear he may leave - I hope it's just a salary grab because X has a huge recruiting class coming in…. if Mack goes, I would guess that class would fall apart. It would be a big blow - lots of hope around here about next year largely due to the big class coming in and a solid core of returning players, even with Semaj leaving.
Not sure how much the new athletic director has to do with this whole situation - he's just been on the job 1 year (I think, it all blends together after awhile). Mack was hired under the extremely well thought of Mike Bobinski (now at G. Tech).
Xavier has survived, even thrived, with losing several head coaches in the past obviously. But I don't think they have ever had such a highly touted class. It would be an absolute shame for this to wreck and leave Xavier fans wondering "what if" for seasons to come. Of the 5 recruits, hopefully many would stay, but I have a feeling that Tevon Bluiett would be gone (he is the most touted of the bunch). That is based on absolutely not facts, but somehow I don't see a top 50 player coming into a situation with a brand new coach. Maybe he would just go with Butler then! Or worse, Michigan State - who made a late charge on him.
All five player signed letters of intent, but it seems most schools release players in those situations????
