Bad Day for Bracketology

Of the 121 brackets summarized on the Bracket Matrix only 3 had NC State in. The next biggest mistake appears to be St. Louis, as only 8 had them correctly seeded. Louisville was another hiccup. As everyone missed out on NCState, Lunardi did okay on the master board.

The next question I have is did Coach K's rant sway the committee?

yep, Lunardi finished I think tied for 31st at 339. Palm was way down there at 325.

This was one of the more unpredictable selections in awhile.

not really. Lunardi getting a 339 is actually fairly high.

I'm talking more about the seeding of some teams, which was just wonky, than the overall bracket. Sorry, should have clarified.

maybe from the committee's standpoint, but like look at Lunardi. He had 60/68 teams +/- 1 seed line. 39 seeded correctly.

some folks had even better numbers- like 45 seeded correctly and one guy had all 68 teams within 1 seed line.

just looking at the ratings, bracketology wasn't as good as last 2 years.... BUT- still better than the 6 before it.
2014 matrix got 336.
2013 346
2012 342
2011 318
2010 311
2009 310
2008 333
2007 283
2006 287
