St. John's a 1 seed with home court advantage all the way through. Hoyas a 4 with a first round match up against West Virginia. It ain't the NCAA's but we might as well try to win it and get ready for next season.

SJU looks to be in solid position to make a run, which is good. The NIT tends to be a good primer for the next season.

SJU only loses Orlando Sanchez and God's Gift Achiuwa next year. I hope they put together a better non-conference schedule (don't schedule as many bad-to-awful teams) and schedule a true road game or two, because they should be good from the word "Go" and could establish a nice resume off non-conference play alone.

Georgetown's strong recruiting class and the return of Josh Smith will set themselves up well, but the loss of Markel Starks will definitely hurt initially.

Is there a link to the NIT bracket? I can't seem to find it.

Last year Virginia was a 1 seed in the NIT and jumped to a 1 seed in this years NCAA's. With pretty much everyone coming back, I guess we Johnnies fans can dream.

Marquette Deputy Athletic Director Mike Broeker tweeted shortly after the NIT bracket was revealed that MU would not be participating in any other competitions, presumably meaning that MU intended to turn down any bid offered by the CBI or CIT.

Frankly, this is a decision that I wholeheartedly agree with. There's nothing that could be accomplished against that level of competition that couldn't also be accomplished in a November buy game.

Disappointed to not make the NIT, as because the Bradley Center is being used for the 2nd/3rd rounds of the NCAA Tournament, those games would have been held at the on-campus, 4,000-capacity Al McGuire Center, where the students are literally right on top of the visiting bench. It would have been an electric atmosphere, but ultimately, 15 losses, including 4 in a row to end the season, sunk the listing ship.
Al McGuire: "What is this?"
Waiter: "Mr. McGuire, that is a cull lobster. Sometimes when the lobsters are in the tank, they fight. This one lost a claw."
Al McGuire: "Well then take this one away and bring me the winner."

Xavier's season ended the exact same way, after a first-round exit in the conference tournament and turning down invites to lesser conferences. Both endings also occurred a season after a Sweet 16. It has to be surreal for the seniors, who are used to tournament play.
