there's got to be a place for UConn or Cincy to go.... Especially UConn.

Temple is 6th in all time wins in the NCAA. They will be back.

But you also add two more bottom feeders in ECU and Tulane.

that's true. However if the big 4 keep up- then add in Tulsa- that's a pretty good top 5. Key will be can Temple get back, and can Houston build on what has to be viewed as a pretty good season.. If those 2 are yesses, that's 7 teams. Leaves UCF, USF, ECU, and Tulane. ECU/Tulane both had winning records this year.

Well, yea, and if a frog had wings it wouldn't bump its ass when it hops.

I'm not even sure the AAC commissioner would draw up such a rose-colored glasses scenario.

What's more likely is that SMU and Tulsa return to the form that have seen them qualify for one NCAA Tournament total in the last 22 seasons between them, Louisville leaves for greener pastures, giving Memphis, Cincinnati, and UConn one (or two or three) fewer chances to pick up a quality win, and East Carolina and Tulane, despite their "winning" records this year, continue to maintain RPIs close to the cesspool RPIs of 216 and 223, respectively.

I will be stunned if the AAC gets more than 3 next year.

Temple will not be back unless they improve their recruiting and there's no indication that they're doing that. It will probably take a coaching change to get Temple back where they were.

Tulsa only made the tournament because they won the auto bid from an awful league. The trade of Louisville for Tulsa is a disaster for the AAC.

The problem with the AAC is what the C-7 feared when Tulane joined and what has now been proven by Louisville and SMU. The bottom of the league is so bad that it just drags everyone down. Louisville is really a good pick to repeat as National Champions yet they get a four seed because they had a total of twelve games against Rutgers, Houston, Temple, USF and UCF. SMU had 11 games against that group which included a loss to Houston in the AAC Tourny opener, a loss to Temple and a loss to USF. Next year will be worse. Louisville and Rutgers leave (no big loss with Rutgers) and you bring in Tulane, Tulsa and East Carolina. They are going to have to schedule three or four top out of conference teams for RPI purposes.

The committee gave the AAC absolutely no respect.

Louisville and SMU played shit non-conference schedules. That was the first thing Wellman said about them.

And playing a strong OOC schedule was necessary because the in conference schedule was also shitty.

It just made it more necessary than it already was. It's not that their non-conference schedules were bad, it's that they were awful relative to the seeding/selection they were going for. SMU's schedule was 295 when they were trying to get a bid. Louisville's schedules was 149 when they were trying to get a 2 or 3 seed.
