NC State got in!?!?!? vs. Xavier. Very winnable game in Dayton, X fans need to pack the place.

Most of tickets are gone. Dayton fans buying heavy this week. Is this fair to XU? NC state just picked up 10k farms for the game

This might be the worst bracketing I have seen in a long time. Some notes:

1.) Four Big East teams in the field but placed in two brackets, including Providence and Nova put in the same half of the bracket;
2.) Three of the four American teams in the same bracket;
3.) Louisville is a four seed - has the committee seen them play?
4.) The Big East, American, and ACC all got 40% of their teams in. Not bad considering The American and Big East have I/3 less teams than the ACC.
5.) Of the old 16 team Big East, there are 7 teams in.

They changed the bracketing rules this year to allow conference teams to be grouped together earlier so seeing Nova/Providence together and the AAC clusterfudge should be no surprise.

Only major issue I have is Louisville as a 4. That's just insane and distorts the whole tournament.

Ron Wells (head of selection committee) was on CBS after brackets were announced, and he was specifically asked about SMU and Louisville. The bottom line is that the five terrible teams in the AAC crucified their SOS. He said SMU's overall SOS was 126 or something, and the lowest SOS of any team in the field was 91.

And yes, Louisville looks to be firing on all cylinders, but their SOS, top 50 wins, etc. put them clearly on the 4 line according to Wells.

So even though the Jays haven't looked as good the past month relative to earlier in the season, all those OOC games--ASU, GW, Cal, SDSU, Nebraska, St. Joes, Tulsa--helped to boost our overall SOS, and since we won most of them by double digits, that improved our RPI and put us on the three line. I was expecting a four for us.

On another note, I think PC can give UNC fits with their 40 minutes of all out effort style. Go Friars!

I'm disappointed that X has a play-in game. At least it's in Dayton. I've never watched a play-in game before, but I will be rooting extra hard for X, especially since it's against NC State, who may not have gotten in if it weren't for Coach K's whining (just kidding...sorta).

I'm glad they penalized the AAC. The bottom half of that conference is a joke and it didn't help that SMU played nobody in OOC.

Normally a game 1 hour from your home court would be a great thing. This is exactly not the case here. The dayton fans are staunchly anti X, and will be rooting against Xavier big time. Just wait until you see the game, it's going to be seriously anti-Xavier, even if it's so close to Xaviers campus.

good luck with that with Baylor and UNC there.

One thing that will be interesting, will Creighton fans be able to if Nebraska loses 1st rd be able to get a lot of tickets for the 3rd rd game?

Hopefully X fans can grab some tickets for the game. Would have to think most Dayton fans would be leaving for Buffalo.
