This year's BET has officially killed any respectability

The other conferences will have a field day with this. PC, SHU, and DePaul advance while SJ, Nova, and G'Town tap out. That is awful. Pathetic. Unacceptable. If someone would have said "Wanna bet that SJ, Nova, and G'Town all lose in the first round?" a week ago, I would have bet my car against that.

Our perception is extremely weak now. Glad PC won, and SHU got the upset, and DePaul got the upset, but the truth is those can't be the ones leading the way if we want to be taken seriously. What a terrible first year so far. Our only hope is Nova or Creighton making a deep run. But that seems very unlikely the way things have played out recently.

RIP old Big East.

It sounds as if you are very upset that SJ lost. Understandable, but this is the very first year of the reborn BE. SJ is young and will be there strong next year. We need all teams in the BE strong. The whole conference does not rely on what SJU or GT or Nova do based on the past-it's a new era.

You sound like you need a drink.

It's really not because of that. If you saw my posts you would see weeks ago I knew we wouldn't make it. What pisses me off is that all those teams lost. Now ACC/AAC/Big 10/Big 12/Pac12 teams will say "The Big East sucks…DePaul and Seton Hall…really?". To make matters worse, since it's the first year of the new conference we needed to establish ourselves early. We have embarrassed ourselves instead.

If we don't get 3-4 teams ranked and 4-5 tourney teams consistently and fast then this conference may be considered a mid major by critics.

Que the Debbie Downer theme song.

The league has had an exciting start this year. The future is bright. Try turning that frown upside down. :)

Yea, you're right. Conference tournaments are way more exciting when chalk plays out. Let's not even play the games and just say Villanova won.

While we're at it, scratch March Madness. No one will take college basketball seriously if a lower-seeded team beats a higher-seeded team. Florida are the Champions. See you in November, guys!

So in the old BE there was never upsets? That is what made the BE great. No game was easy. If you survived and won you could hang your hat on that accomplishment. Without checking this, wasn't Kemba Walkers team ranked 7th that year? I seem to remember that the 6ot Cuse team wasn't ranked that high in the BE that year either. If the games are boring blowouts then it's a different BE, if each game is a battle then it is more of the same.

LOL... you're acting like St Johns is a powerhouse.

St. Johns is not in Nova or Georgetown's league.

St. Johns, Providence and Seton Hall have been middle-of-the-pack to bottom feeder teams for the past 10 years.

Also, your argument doesn't make sense. Are people saying the western conference sucks this year because the Lakers are not making the playoffs?
