I thought Providence played better in the 2nd half than we did.

Nice win by Creighton. The game was over early. PC fought but that might have been magnified by Creighton taking their foot off the gas. So the Johnnies have PC as our BET matchup. I like it. I think we have more depth, and if we can hold Cotton under 20 we have a great shot. The 2 keys will be: 1) limit their FT's and 2) limit Cotton…he can have a good game but not a great one if we are going to take this. PC is very small and has only a few thousand students. SJ is more like 18k or so. No excuse to not fill the Garden with 90% red shirts.

PC is a very gritty team. They are a great rebounding team and get tons of second chance points. We literally handed them a game earlier in the year and I want revenge. PC didn't seem to shoot well tonight…I hope they aren't due for a hot game from 3. I think it will be another game right down to the wire decided by 5 or less. Shut down Cotton and make others beat you.

When Doug hit the 3 to cross 3,000 that had to be the loudest the CLink has been. Such a memorable night on so many levels. Doug was on a mission from the start. I had no doubt within the first 2 minutes he would get his 34. The funny thing is that I sense he wanted it tonight more so as a thank you to the fans than for himself. He was going to get it eventually one way or another but you could tell he had made up his mind that it was going to happen at home. When I saw tickets selling for hundreds of dollars before the game I thought it was a little nutty, but quite frankly it would have been worth every penny. That was a masterpiece I will never forget. Thank you, Doug. You and all the seniors will be missed.

Sorry Friar fans, I don't think anyone in the country would have come out with a win on senior night. Unfortunately you guys got the short straw. Credit for fighting till the end and, wow, Cotton is something else. His second half was quite impressive. Good luck the rest of the way, hope you get an invite to dance.

I hope the attitude here is pervasive on the Creighton campus and affects the players as well.

We heard similar comments when Marquette went into Providence this week. Marquette had beaten Providence 10 in a row, 11-1 since joining the Big East, etc, etc. But when they met on the court, none of that mattered. Providence won the Game.

No disrespect to other Providence fans but did you really think the Jays would lay an egg on senior night of the best player in the history of the program? There is nothing over confident about thinking we would win on senior night with this group of seniors let alone a year when we won every other home game.

Pretty common when a team is doubling up another at half, unless there is a significant talent difference - that only happens OOC. The focus on D isn't ever the same that 2H. Add that Providence is a proud team that wanted to at least show fight.

Jays shot 16-22 in 2H, so it's not like they laid an egg.

Pretty good analysis. Cotton is money mad I am sure he would have gotten his regardless though. Can't wait to see Providence put the wood to some mediocre BIG10 team in the NCAA.

I thought you would get the win too. What I objected to was the lack of respect. You continue to show the same lack of respect by stating that a loss to Providence would have been the equivalent to "laying an egg." See you at The Garden.

So one Creighton fan was perceived as overconfident and you threw us all under the bus? I don't think anyone disrespected Providence or was overconfident...they beat us already and we were coming off two losses.

Truth be told, we play best when the offense is moving fast. Whenever we try to slow it down and run some clock, the offense gets a bit bogged down.

I just took the time to read this entire thread and am amazed at how wrong Bill was in literally every single post (and he had a ton of them).
