1 - Xavier
2 - Georgetown
2/3 - Providence
3 - St. John's
4 - Marquette
The rest would need to win the Big East tournament to get a bid. It's interesting that there are 5 teams that still have a shot to get a bid without winning the tourney next week.

Xavier agree with.
Georgetown agree with. will have to beat either Villanova or in the BET QF vs Creighton probable.
Providence- 2 if they beat Creighton, 3 otherwise.
St Johns- 3
Marquette- 3 would be awfully probable to me.

An unlikely win over Creighton would obviously be huge for Providence, but a win tonight plus a win in the tournament boosts SOS with 2 tournament games. SOS boosts RPI even with a loss to Villanoba or Creighton in the tournament. So, there is. A path for them to get a bid without a Creighton win depending on how everything else falls into place.

Tonight's win cuts PC's number of wins needed to 1 or 2 depending on what else happens. Personally, I think that if they get one more win, they're in.
For Marquette, this was a missed opportunity. The loss throws them into the category of needing to win the Big East tournament to get a bid. Anything short of that and I don't think they can make it.
stever20 wrote:Still think PC needs 2. They need 1 more big name win.
For Marquette- they still need 4. actually could be 3- if all 3 are in NYC.
