Creighton will have their hands full trying to deal with Stainbrook and Reynolds down low on Sat night against Xavier.

Real big win for Xavier. Needed a solid road win.

Jalen Reynolds with his coming out party. 17 points and 16 boards.

Nice win X. I'm sure St. John's will rebound (preferably not against us).
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

So much St. John's hate. Just wow. I never realized how many SJ haters there were until I came to this site.

If there's any team you should be rooting for if your team is out, it's us. Our rookie phenom Jordan had his best friend, aunt, and uncle murdered all within not even a year. The kid is all class and wants to give back to his community in the worst way. You may hate it or deny it. Either way, NYC is the capital of the world and when you win here it's great for the conference as a whole. It garners much more hype. It renews an old legendary program. Rooting for SJ to fail is counterintuitive if you want the Big East to have any respect at all. Just like when the Yankees win baseball is much more hyped up and many more people care and watch. When the Giants are winning, the NFL is more hyped up and many more people care and watch. When the Knicks…you get the point. Same for St. John's.

This is a program that has been down for so long with a legendary past that has had some of the worst luck you will see. Snakebitten. Injuries to key players at key times. Off the court issues at key times. Eligibility issues. Suspensions to key players at key times. The whole 9. We are the guys who have shown signs of life but been down on our luck. You should root for that kind of team.

RIP St. John's season. It was a thrill but I knew deep down in my gut that it seemed too good to be true. Lavin did just enough to save his job and get the team on the bubble, but also fail. Brilliant. Even making the tournament at all for this program has been so elusive. The 0-5 start and the 8 to 10 games decided by single digits we lost did us in. When something seems too good to be true, it usually is. I hope the Garden is empty for DePaul. People complain we have low attendance. Are you watching? These games are why. We have a chance to finally put the final nail in the coffin but we falter every time. This program is snakebitten and I'm a realist and an empiricist, but it really seems like there is a curse on this team.

I'm guessing SJU needs to make the BE tourney finals with a win over Creighton or Nova to be in the final NCAA discussion.

Great win X. Didn't see that one coming. SJU reverting to low IQ basketball. This team is missing something.

St. John's stopped moving without the ball in the second half. I didn't watch the first half too closely but compared to the SJU-VU game last weekend, it seemed that SJU were not as active without the ball on the offensive end. Instead they stood around watching and waiting for someone to run an isolation play. On defense, they seemed a step slow and didn't get many (any?) 50/50 balls late in the game.

So much St. John's hatred. At a time when our rookie had his best friend and 2 family members murdered. At a time when the Big East needs SJ to be a real contender again. At a time when Obekpa is hurt and now probably Harrison.

If this was any other team, the Nova and X fans would be bashing the posters for being brutal and heartless. But because it's St. John's it's open season. Maybe the other SJ fans had real hope, but I knew something didn't feel right. When we made the big run I knew it was too good to be true. If it was really going to be a tourney year we would have beat Nova and never lost those PC, DePaul, and PSU games. The 0-5 start will haunt us and the key injuries/suspensions at the worst possible times are becoming a regularity in the past 4 years. Bad luck alone can keep you out. Bad luck mixed with terrible performance seals the deal for the NIT.

I am disgusted with some of the other fan bases on here for piling on and rubbing salt in the wounds of a legendary program that was a major reason the Big East was even formed in the first place. Time to stop with the double standards. A dick fan is a dick fan. Stop allowing dick fans of other teams to put down SJ while crucifying SJ fans for being dicks to fans of other teams.

At the end of the day, you had to see this coming if you are a Johnnies fan. The second this team ever exceeds or even meets expectations I will have to pinch to see if I'm dreaming. Making the tournament for this program feels like asking a dog to write an essay at this point. Beginning to think that whole streak was fools gold and just the law of averages at work instead of real improvement. Another year, another absence from relevance in the tourney. How is it even possible to miss the tourney so consistently? That's hard to do.
