I love how we can't talk about a game during a thread about that game because, well it's Butler. Did you guys beat Butler by 25? If you combine the two games against them, then yes, you've also beat them by 25.

Right now we have 8 wins, and everyone except Nova and Creighton have less. I'm sure others will get to 8 at some point, but right now it's only us behind those two.

Xavier could have won the game at Hinkle by 30+ if they wanted to. Difference is they took their foot completely off the gas the last 10 minutes of the game, which allowed Butler to make the margin look somewhat more respectable. Last night St. John's stayed in their zone and kept attacking pretty much until the last couple minutes of the game. Not blaming them for doing that or saying it's wrong, just there was a major difference in how the teams played Butler down the stretch.

I'm a Butler fan and I'd say the Johnnies have nothing to pound their chest about last night. Pound your chest about the Creighton win? Sure, but as the crowd noise indicated yesterday, it was a blowout win against a team you were expected to beat handily. You took care of business, and that's probably why no one discussed the game in the thread, because the result was what the majority of people expected.

Great, be ready to be surrounded by 8 million people just like me in March. Oh and you better hope you don't run into us again because you needed the NPOY to single handily keep you from being swept by us this year. If you think i'm annoying now just wait, you ain't seen nothing yet.

It's Butler. You were expected to beat up on them. Impressive last third of the game, but still...it's Butler. Xavier is probably going to tie you guys in wins tonight (with one fewer loss) after they play DePaul. Granted, that game will be in prime time, but if Xavier takes them behind the woodshed, the response will be: It's DePaul.

Oh please. You X fans sure are a hoot, can't give credit where credit is due. I really can't wait until tuesday, the Johnnies have been getting payback the last few weeks and X certainly has theirs coming to them.

Ease up big shooter - read for context. No one ever said that you couldn't talk about beating Butler. He just was explaining to you why NO ONE ELSE was talking about it.
That being said, SJU had a very dominant second half performance - probably one of the 20 best halves of basketball this conference season...there, is your ego soothed?

Johnnies are looking good. Obekpa is going to be missed in the next two games which are shaping up to be the biggest of the season (villanova and Xavier). I doubt they beat Nova, but if they do beat Nova and get to 21 wins they are in (21 including BET). Their RPI would jump up significantly with a top 10 win on the road.

Exactly. I don't know why that was hard to comprehend.

1. Person A wonders why no one is talking about a win.
2. Person B points out why no is talking about that win.
3. Person A somehow interprets that to mean that he can't start talking about the win.

?????????

And Irish Dawg is right. The Butler game could have been much uglier than it was. Xavier had extended the lead to 20+ with 12 minutes to go and just coasted, not even caring when Butler cut the margin by 6 up against Xavier's walk-ons in the closing minutes.
