Have never heard or read a bad word about Marquette from Villanova people. If anything, discussion tends toward similarities between the programs since MU joined up. Concur that in terms of historical accomplishments, there is not a dime's worth of difference between Nova, Marquette and Georgetown.

You know unless you look at BE regular season titles and Big East Tournament titles:

Georgetown: 11 regular season titles (10 BE); 10 Conference tournament titles (7 BE)

Villanova: 7 regular season title( 4 BE 3 A10); 3 conference tournament titles( 2 A10 1 BE)

Marquette: 3 Regular season titles (1 Great Midwest Conference, 1 CUSA, 1 BE); 1 Conference tournament title (CUSA)

Ok maybe I see where the cocky thing comes from 8-) but i'm the exception that proves the rule

We have had some fantastic showdowns over the years with Georgetown, and in more recent years with Butler.

But to be honest, it's Villanova. For whatever reason, whenever we go to Philadelphia it is a fricken horror show for the Warriors. I'm getting tired of losing to Villanova.
Al McGuire: "What is this?"
Waiter: "Mr. McGuire, that is a cull lobster. Sometimes when the lobsters are in the tank, they fight. This one lost a claw."
Al McGuire: "Well then take this one away and bring me the winner."

Nope, just our remaining schedule. Everyone will move up to 1 at some point. :D

I like all the teams in this conference and I hope we stay at 10 so discussions like this are allowed to really gain traction as we go through season after season of home and away games with each member. Having noted that, I like to aim for the top:

1. Georgetown
2. Nova
3. Marquette

Who is to say what the dynamics and rivalries of this conference will be even five years from now, but I view those programs as the marque programs in the conference at present. Aim for the top and have at it (I hope that last comment didn't add to the perceived arrogance of Xavier fans on the part of a few fans around here).

I hope you all end up really hating X... That will mean that we're beating you... a lot! ;) I think X fans do/will hate Butler and Creighton because as our companions entering the BE, we don't want them to have more success than us.

XUDynasty, what's funny about Creighton is that I just really like them. I can't view them as a rival in any way. Honestly, if they went and made it to the Final Four this year, I would be thrilled, whereas if Butler ever does that again I'll be pissed.

I've enjoyed Creighton ever since our series in the early 2000s and can say they're the only other NCAA program besides Xavier that I've thought it would be cool to be a fan of. I really hope our two programs can dominate this league for years to come.
