I noticed a post on your Scout Board that mentioned that there are only 200 tickets left for the game! Damn. It should be a helluva show.

Butler had a lot of empty seats tonight. A lot. I know Butler is having a tough season, but it looked underwhelming in there. I could hear the Xavier fans cheering very clearly during the television broadcast.

Attendance tonight was 6868 in an 11,000 seat arena.

to me, these last 3 days have been kind of the best case scenario the league has had all year long. Every possible bubble team that we've needed to win has won(except for PC, and between Georgetown and PC, it's by far better for Georgetown to win that game). Still a lot of work to do, but for the first time things seem to be looking up a smidge. While not saying we're going to get 6, for the first time I see kind of a reasonable path to get 5 teams in. Still got a lot of potential pratfalls, but still some potential....

And they were, for the most part, in the upper corner.

At one point the Butler student section was counting down the shot clock on Xavier and others in the stands were yelling when Semaj drove in and dished to Philmore at the elbow. Philmore nailed the shot, and the noise level didn't change at all when the Butler fans got quiet and the Xavier fans cheered. Butler has never had great attendance, but it's pretty awful right now with the rough season they're having.

I doubt that was the actual gate count.

Let's see "exhibition game" "fans are not loud" "low attendance" why did we invite Butler in the first place? Why don't we just kick the program out right now. I mean shoot, all of these other teams would be great if they lost their best player and head coach before the season started. No one would have any problems with attendance or winning basketball games in a new conference. Let's stick to the x's and o's. Good win for Xavier, Butler was not ready to play especially since a player got kicked out during shoot-around. Their heads were not in the game and it was a piss-poor effort.

I missed that - who got kicked out and why was he kicked out?

First year PG Rene Castro. Kid was a borderline top 150 player coming into Butler and has not seen the floor much. Coach Miller was asked during the presser the reason for his "absence" at the game, and no information was given.
