Creighton Fans

Postby BigEast1 » Mon Feb 10, 2014 2:47 pm

I just read something on the SJU site about the Creighton fans posts after last night's game. I read the comments and felt that the Jays deserve a special shout out. I've been following Big East hoops since the mid 80's and I don't think there has ever been a fan base as classy & gracious as you guys after a loss. Kind of hard not to root the Jays now. Every fan base has it's bad apples, some more than others, but those comments following a hotly contested game was a first for me. Kudos & good luck the rest of the way.

Be careful. SJU fans might have a problem with you giving CU fans compliments. I got reprimanded for it last night.

Creighton fans I've encountered have seemed to be quite reasonable. Of course, every fan base has their a-holes. Most fanbases have their reasonable sect and their lunatic fringe.

Based on the follow up comments on the SJU site, I think some agree with the post.

Bigeast, I was at the game last night and they were classy and gracious. They`re a great additionion.

Last week, I was talking trash with trash talking Creighton fans, because I got sick of them saying the SJU fanbase is the worst for months.

Anyway, they`ll be scary in the ncaa tourny.

I know what you mean, Creighton is a team I would not want to play in March (or now for that matter). I hope the committee matches them up with Syracuse, they are perfectly suited to bust that zone & the Orange packing.

Yeah you're right, we should just accept your backhanded compliments and thank you for taking shots at us. I thank you for taking time away from your busy schedule of keeping goats from crossing bridges to share with us your thoughts.

That is very true, most of the Bluejay koolaid drinkers don't post here much (thankfully). We are just happy to be in the Big East!

I think all the fans here deserve a lot of credit for civility. Different than a one team board with most posters having the same rooting interest, we've got fans of 10 teams here and yet I still find most of the discussion quite civil. Sure every fan base has a few outspoken pot-stirrers and this site has a couple of those, but I hope to see this site continue to flourish with like minded pro-BigEast fans who can discuss the present and future of the league without the name calling and antagonism I've seen elsewhere.

Bigeast1, thank you.

To all others;
Even in a loss Sunday night, what a great game. SJU is freaky athletic. This conference is packed with great hoops. Getting the opportunity to play these schools, these teams, in these venues, night in and night out... It's just plain awesome. I hope you all get the chance to travel west to catch a game as much as I look forward to traveling east to do the same. There are no gimme games, no nights off and I have no heartburn with anybody from any other schools fan bases.... But you will never hear me say "we are just happy to be in the Big East.", that's just pathetic. We are here to cheer for our team and want to win them all, just like every other fan base here. That's why they call it being a fan. Cheers! It's great being in the Big East.
