Georgetown has to have this one at home. Road wins in any league are difficult to get.

Are there any talks of an on campus arena for Georgetown? They've had lots of empty seats for most of the games I've watched. Looks bad on TV. Not a dig at Georgetown fans, I know the arena is a hike from campus and alumni are spread all over the country but it is sad watching them play in front of so many empty seats. Too good of a program. Is say a 6-8k arena to use for lesser opponents even possible on campus? Again not a dig at Georgetown, just want to know if it's even discussed?

I watched most of the Butler vs. Georgetown game on Saturday and it was pretty packed. Maybe cause it was a Saturday and on CBS. I agree though, it looks dead empty tonight.

Bryce Cotton takes on Georgetown 1 on 5.

Providence leads at the half.

I think with most of the schools playing in NBA arenas that they get better turnouts during weekend afternoon games.

BTW nice no call on that blocked shot. That looked like a nice clean block to me. As a fan of the team who leads the nation in shot blocks we also get called a lot for goaltending, even though we get some bad calls in that regard that go against us. Refs just assume it's a goaltend sometimes. Especially when the shooting team is all doing the made basket hand single.

6-8k might be a little small. I would imagine Georgetown would draw a little better on-campus and I'm sure they get more than that for most games now. I think ideally Georgetown would probably want a 12,000 or so seat on-campus arena. I don't think it's in the works since the intercollegiate athletic center is the first major athletic upgrade the school has had in some time. I don't believe they have even started that project, although they do have the funds and plan set. Marquette is lucky with our borrowed pro arena in that it is within easy walking distance of the campus, and I may be wrong but I believe we pay hardly any rent. Most schools aren't so lucky.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Cotton turned it on! Gonna be a tough second half for PC... Georgetown is more talented overall.

Saturday afternoon games tend to draw better everywhere. The weekend gives alumni and fans that work too long or live too far the chance to catch a game. Villanova normally draws much better on Saturdays in Philly than weeknights but that's why it's nice to have the Pavilion (needs a major upgrade though-place is a dump!). I'm not saying Georgetown should ditch the phone booth all together. I just think they'd benefit from something on campus as an alternate arena.
