One game tonight in the Big East:

Providence at Georgetown, 7pm, FS1.

Huge game for both teams.
The Friars have lost 3 of 4, including a close one at Xavier 2 days ago.
The Hoyas have won 3 straight.
PC beat GU at home about a month ago.
PC's RPI is 49. Georgetown's RPI is 57.

Key last game was turnovers. Hoyas gave up 20 points off of turnovers to Providence. Cut down the turnovers especially live ball ones and I like our chances at home.

Can't see G'Town losing this one. They are due for a big surge not unlike SJ. They are too good not to.

Probably a must win for both teams quite frankly..

Providence- a loss here and they're 16-9. 6 games left, and probably need to go 4-2 at that point to even be on the bubble.
Georgetown- a loss here and they're 14-10. 6 games left, and probably need to go 4-2 to have a shot. What's worse- 4/6 games are road games- and 2 home games are Xavier and Creighton. ( I don't think 3-3 cuts it here- they'd be 8-10 in conference play, and don't really see a sub .500 team getting in this year- definitely not with only 17 wins).

Not really liking the chances of whoever loses the game. Whoever wins the game is in pretty decent shape. No Sharpie yet to use a Seth Davis analogy, but definitely in pretty good shape.

Nothing against PC, but I am pulling for GT. I do not want them to feel that our game out there is a do or die proposition. I'd much rather have the more desperate team at home than on the road.

I think if Georgetown wins both teams are still fine. It's bigger for Georgetown. Providence has 4 games they should win: Depaul, Butler, Marquette and Seton Hall. If they just take care of business they'll be fine. Georgetown's schedule is tougher.

PC at 20-11 is no lock at all by any stretch. 20-11 gets them RPI of 49.5. They would almost for sure need a win in the BET to feel good about their chances. Also, not sure you can say they should beat Marquette after what they did to them a few weeks ago. Would not want to be counting on that to make the tourney.

Two of those Providence 'win' games are on the road, Butler and Seton Hall. PC is 3-4 on the road. Even winning those four (and losing the other three), Providence ends up 20-11 (10-8 conference) going into the Big East tourney. Bubble status at best. You need the win tonight.

Georgetown has to go to St. John's, Seton Hall, Marquette, and Villanova. Ouch. And with X and Creighton at home. Ouch. This looks like a must win for both, but REALLY a must win for Georgetown. Sitting at 14-9, the Hoyas can't lose 3 of the last 7 and short of a Big East tourney win, expect a dance ticket at 18-12. Hoyas need to go 5-2 to stay in the conversation.

Best of luck to both. Let's not blame the result on the refs.

I'll be at the game tonight with my co-workers. HOYA SAXA! Fry Those Friers! I wonder if they'll let me hold up signs with that.

I think in the best interests of the Big East, I'll have to root for Georgetown. They have a better resume than PC and thus a better chance of getting in the tourney.
