The refs were awful again, but SJ found a way to fight through them with good defense. When Creighton does not have their 3 pt game going and McDermott scoring 30+ they are at a disadvantage. McDermott was all but shut down (in his terms) by Sampson. Not sure how many teams have done that. Also glad Creighton was at full strength so no one can say we beat them without Gibbs.
You don't even recognize how obnoxious your first paragraph is immediately after a win, do you? Or maybe you do, but just don't care. Who knows...

So far post-game I have seen nothing but class from SJ fans. Credit the Johnnies for the win…you should be happy because we just helped Nova. It's also important to remember that it was essentially a meaningless game for them in terms of March chances. If they were on the bubble too you might see a different side. And that goes for all fan bases. Beginning to sense a bias from you Gumby. Hope I'm wrong.

You simply can't shoot 56% from the FT line and less than 24% from beyond the arc and hope to win. It's one thing to defend the treys; it's impossible to defend shots from the free throw line. Creighton lost a game here because of their poor shooting.

Which I think was a direct result of playing in an historic arena in front of a large crowd against a defense that never gives up. The remainder of the season is going to test Creighton's mental strength, which wasn't tested nearly as much in the MVC.

You know a player is somewhat decent when the TV broadcast's player of the game honor goes to the man who held him to 25. #dougie

I'm just not into boasting after a win on a shared message board. No big deal, just a personal preference.
Was defintely a great game. I wish I walked 10 blocks north and bought a ticket.
