Before my last post saying A-10 is typically a 2 or 3 bid league(which is true), I did some research to make sure this was accurate. What I found was surprising, 4 of the 13 current members of the A-10 haven't been to the dance in this millennium(Fordham, Duquesne, URI, UMass). Going back to 1990 the current members of the A-10 have 59 NCAA bids in that period, that's 59 bids in 24 years, almost exactly 2.5 bids a year.
Who in that league can you count on to be a consistent NCAA team year in and year out? VCU, who else? That's probably it, no other program currently in the A-10 has shown the consistency or commitment to reach that level, end of story.
