One big difference in the game Sunday night, the Jays will have their Point man back on the court in Grant Gibbs, who didn't play during the game in Omaha. Grant is one of the best ball handlers on the Jays, and he is a big reason that Doug McDermott has had so many big games over his career. Gibbs isn't a big scorer, but he dishes out usually over a half dozen assists and is a calming influence on the Jays (like a true 6th year Senior should be... LOL).

Not saying that this will help the Jays overcome a tough road game at MSG against a very talented and athletic St. John's team. But don't forget that CU was up by 18 midway through the 2nd half and had I believe 15 turnovers (which 5 were each on Chatman - who had one of his worst games that night (along with Manigat) and Devin Brooks - Brooks won't be running the Point with Gibbs back, and he (Gibbs) shouldn't turn the ball over 5 times on Sunday night unless his injury ends up more of an issue then he thinks it will be).

Its going to be a huge battle on Sunday, and the quick turnaround this weekend after 10 days off (playing Friday night, then having to fly all the way to NYC on Saturday to play Sunday) is going to be an issue. But I really don't see SJ beating CU by 10 (unless the Jays pull a Providence and lay a bunch of bricks all over MSG). One thing is, the Jays aren't going to be intimidated going into this game - and I believe will perform very well under the bright lights in NYC. This is going to be a great game, and may the best team win/Jays!

I think we have a new rivalry, well at least a message board rivalry... Sunday evening on these boards is going to be fun to watch - whichever way the game goes - I either see a few CU or SJ posters on here whining, complaining, etc. I would say put the BS aside, but no thanks - this is great entertainment guys... keep it up . By the way, I love NYC and do not think everyone that lives there is a jerk... sure you have your bad apples, but at least having a rival in NYC is a whole heck of a lot better, than that dump called Wichita LOL.

I agree, maybe only by 2-3 points though - being in first place through the first half of the season should mean SOMETHING. St John's has been playing very well lately though and may be starting a "hot streak" to end the season, and is going to be no pushover at MSG. If this game was played at Carnesecca I would say it would probably be a push or SJ may be slightly favored... but playing at MSG will help CU somewhat as they are used to playing in a large arena most of the season.

If I was betting I would bet CU on covering a 2-4 point spread, but anything past that would be way too risky, playing a hot team on one of its home floors... its going to be a very competitive game... a bad call or two/technical-flagrant foul could mean the difference - which will be a powder keg on HLOH.

Some CU been talking junk on SJU for a few months, but we started 0-5 so I was stuck on "shutup".
Now SJU is finally playing like I expected to the whole season (if not for Doug, we have a 6 game winning streak.)
So whoever want to smack on SJU, well I love smacking back.

I know lavinwood and some other say things that rub other fans the wrong way, but saying SJU and their fans (as a whole.), are the worst in the B.E, Well that`s including me.
So yep I`ll definitely smack back, got no problem doing that.
