Not unless both Wichita and KU go on a significant losing spree. I'm guessing we'll go to Milwaukee or San Antonio in the South (Memphis) regional if we get a 3 or 2 seed.

Agee on KU, but I think a significant losing spree for WSU is one game. IMO, that drops them to a three seed. Two games probably puts them at 4-5. I just don't think they are going to get much love by the committee. I have a very hard time believing they would get a one seed even if they win out.

that's what everyone said about Gonzaga last year and we saw them get a #1 seed. Wichita may be undefeated. Don't think there's a doubt in my mind that if they're undefeated, they're getting a #1 seed.

Not necessarily. As the saying goes, it's better to be lucky than good. Ask George Mason.

As Harrison said after the Marquette game: "Everyone is now buying into the game plan. 3-1 in our last 4 B.E. game (with Doug`s three ball shot beating us.) we are looking much better.
Not gonna say we`ll win tonight but I got alot of more confidence then I did in mid January.

With each win we get more and more confident. That`s what a team needs, believe in themselves and anything is possible.

Anyone who doesn't realize that St Johns has played like a much different team the last 4-5 games compared to everything before that simply hasn't been watching them. The glimpses they've shown the 1.5 season prior have been much more consistent. The low IQ moments have been fewer and further between...and a much shorter duration when they rear their head. A light bulb seems to be going on. The key will be can it keep clicking or will old habits return? If they face some adversity, will they stick to the growth or revert?

Wait.

The last three posts are talking about the chances of the team going forward. This forward look has nothing to do with them potentially being considered by some (many?) as a team that, to this point, has done just enough to lose.

I'm not saying they won't win tonight or haven't upped their game substantially.

I actually like this team embracing the badass role. We have guys like Harrison and Pointer who are very emotional and aggressive. We are not a bunch of pansies. So let the rest of the league root against us. As long as we keep climbing the ladder it will just be fuel to the fire. We are a gritty fan base and team that has been through a lot. We do best as the underdog, so let them make their snide remarks. And by the way, no fan base will ever be as bad as Cuse's…though I'm sure Creighton fans would say Wichita St. fans are worse.

I was going to put this on an entirely new thread, but figured that it sort of fits here:

ON AN ACTUAL ACC BOARD OUT IN CYBERWORLD:
Every couple of weeks I try to skim through their message boards, on the site that bans basketball fans and Big East members, including Redman.
Talk about a culture shock for Pitt and Syracuse fans...
Gotta love NYC and MSG...
Wow.
Butler, Xavier and Creighton fans... so glad you're here in the Big East and you're gonna love the BET...!

A PITT FAN ASKS:
Going to my first ACC tournament.
Just got confirmation.
Anyone have any suggestions for Greensboro?

Then:

MIAMI of FLORIDA FAN ANSWERS:
"There is a lot of cool stuff in Winston-Salem. That's where I stayed when Miami played there last year. Many, many neat places, especially right in downtown. There was a bar and grill - can't remember the name of it - but I think it was close to the Renaissance team hotel (like, two blocks away?) and had about the best burgers ever there."

ECU FAN WITH GOOD ADVICE:
"Dont leave valuables in your car while at the games. Its prime time for thugs to come out in Greensboro, and it happens a lot at the tourney if you are not parked in a secure area. Greensboro itself isn't.very exciting but there are some nice restaurants. They'll be packed so call ahead."

NC STATE FAN WAS NEXT:
"Check out Old Salem in Winston-Salem if you have time. It is an 18th century Moravian village."

GENERAL ACC FAN FOLLOWED:
"Also, if you are PA Deutsch or interested in the Germans who came into PA, they migrated down to the Winston-Salem/Lexington/Piedmont area if you are interested in such things. If you come in along I-77/I-74 you will pass Mt. Airy and Pilot Mountain which are interesting if you like or watched the Andy Griffith Show."

VIRGINIA TECH FAN PIPED IN:
"Yes. One of the best things about Greensboro is that it's close (30 mins) to Winston-Salem (and about the same to Lexington if you want to try the BBQ)."

GEORGE P. BURDELL NEXT:
"ACC Hall of Fame.
Krispy Kreme HQ (how has this not been mentioned yet?)"

There was a lot of silence from former BE fans... then:

A PITT FAN WEIGHS IN:
"I too have tickets and I'm trying to keep an open mind here but when the best things you can say about Greensboro is that not all parts are bad and that it's kinda near Winston-Salem and the Krispy Cream HQ, I must admit that my hopes are dimming.

If I am going to make a long weekend out of this, I want to have some fun. I don't want to go on a tour to see how wooden chairs are made and I don't want to go to a doughnut mega-store. I can do those things anywhere (and yet choose not to).

Again, I'm not pissing on anyone's parade and I do appreciate the affordability of the lodging and the fact that I can drive there and not have to rent a car. However, this tournament is not giving me high hopes and would appear to be a pretty substantial step backwards from what we all experienced as members of the Big East.

A BIG step backwards.

I know, I know. Love it or leave it. Go back to the Big East, blah, blah, blah. Look, as I said in another thread, I'll give this a shot and I will do so with an open mind and a pure heart. I am going to devote that time and money so I may as well try my best to have fun, right?

I just think the current format is going to change in the not-too-distant future and when it does it is going to be very controversial...until people experience the difference between the two locales. Then it will become a no-brainer for all involved from that point forward."

ANOTHER PITT FAN WEIGHS IN:
"I think the best endorsement for MSG is that every time a new team joined, even when they weren't from anywhere near New York they talked about how amazing it was. Ask Louisville, Marquette, Cincy fans about the BE tournament and they'll rave even though it was difficult and expensive to travel to."

IN SUMMARY:
Not that there is anything wrong with it, but...
A Moravian Village. Mayberry RFD. Chair Factory. Krispy Kreme Donuts. An Amish settlement. A barbeque restaurant 20 miles away in Winston-Salem. Hey, I love history and drag my kids to Presidential museums and American Revolution stuff as much as I can. But wow, Greensboro is a long way from Manhattan.
