Completely disagree. Pointer should have just dribbled out the clock instead of going for the dunk. Punk move by Pointer, but then so was his forearm to McDermott's throat at center court at about the 10 minute mark in the first half of the Creighton game too.

You mean his third forearm in succession, right?

Before we all agree on Mcdermott being POY, lets see where providence ends up

Even if SJ runs the table, there won't be a "shakeup" of the conference. Neither Villanova nor Creighton is going to lose 5 in the second half for SJ to catch them. SJ won't be playing on Wed night of the BET though.

What Pointer did was definitely bad sportsmanship, but I've seen that kind of thing a TON in college hoops. Cuse killed us by like 20 points a few years back at MSG, we went to dribble out and tip our hat to them and go home, and a Cuse player went to steal the ball with seconds left. This kind of thing is not rare. They are kids…they are excited. I can see where DeRosiers was coming from, but he comes off as a sore loser.

Nice of you to give examples of bad sportsmanship by Providence and Syracuse, but you watch far more games played by St. John's than by either of those two. Yet, you don't mention an example of bad sportsmanship by a St. John's player - not even the elbow thrown by Pointer tonight for which he received a technical. Why is it that you don't give a SJU example?

What? I got to say everyone knows how talented St. Johns is and how good they can be on any given night. They played aggressive andflat out beat PC. Good comeback in the second half but too little too late.

But that last play? Your up 10, game is over, 9 seconds left, everyone is going through the motions of the last few seconds, and you decide you want to go for a dunk? Asshole move. PC did the right thing with the hard foul on their Home court. That is the kind of undisciplined, disrespectful, arrogant, and selfish play I've come to expect from the Jonnies under this coach. The players do whatever they want. Its about sportsmanship and respect at that point of the game.

Explain why Bryce Cotton has a shot against McD for POY.

Assuming that's what you meant by 'yes'.

So the guy Vegas has tabbed as the overwhelming favorite for NATIONAL POY may not be the conference POY?

Yes.

No.

If you want to see why all you really have to do is compare SJU games vs CU and vs Providence. In both games McDermott and Cotton put their teams on their backs. Creighton won. Providence lost by double digits.

Any other year Cotton would be a serious POY candidate - right now McDermott is the run away NATIONAL POY. Less than a zero percent chance he is not also BE POY.

Providence is falling apart? How's that?

Despite a tough loss tonight, they've just won 6 out of 8. You call that "falling apart"?
