That was already mentioned earlier in the thread, but feel free to kick us while we are down.

Exactly. Buzz Williams is putting his future in the hands of some message board posters. Really?
ChelseaFriar wrote:notkirkcameron, I was just kidding. I had zero confidence in this game tonight because Marquette has owned PC. Marquette and Syracuse have owned PC. PC has not had a good team since 2004 (junior year of Gomes), which hasn't helped. Strangely, PC basically split games with UConn over the past decade but we can't seem to get anything done vs. Marquette.
Great defensive effort by Marquette in the first half. Really rattled the PC offense.

Likewise, great adjustments in the second half. I was sweating bullets during that 14-4 or whatever it was run by PC to make it interesting. I don't mind losing games with freshmen, but Buzz continually seems to blow second half leads (Seton Hall, Butler, Providence) with his seniors.
Al McGuire once said "The best thing about freshmen is they become sophomores." With this year's MU team, it might be safe to paraphrase and say "The best thing about seniors is they graduate."
billyjack wrote:Yeah, it got interesting in the 2nd half. We were so horrible that Marquette started sleepwalking. Not a bad strategy for us. It went from like 37-17 MU, to 37-34 MU... I think it was a 17-0 run, mostly playing a halfcourt game. It got as low as 3, but then MU kept it around 5 to 9 the rest of the way. Not a bad loss on paper compared to in real life. Silver lining is that our RPI stayed in the 40's, while Marquette's RPI improved into the 70's... Marquette, Georgetown and St John's are all in the 70's with their RPI's... if any of them go on a tear, then they can slip onto the bubble quickly.
