Never been happier to have been foolish and wrong! I have to work on getting rid of the scar tissue from the past decade.

Agreed. I honestly don't think friar fans were wrong to think the season was over. Losing Dunn, Austin, Bullock- we lost the engine of the team at PG, everyone had to change positions, and we literally have NO gaurd off the bench, and play with 6 guys. They have won games, but we will see if it is sustainable. I thought they would battle, but felt that the lack of depth would kill them in close games and expecially if another injury was sustained.

Regardless, I think all credit belongs to Cooley and staff. Winning, when everyone thought the legitimately could not win as constructed. The Georgetown game was HUGE. It would have been alot different being 0-3, headed to a road game at St. Johns before returning to play Creighton.

After PC beat X on Saturday, I thought of this thread. Glad someone dug it back up. Its a good example of how fanbases start to freak out WAY too early. Some times it just takes a big win to jump start a team. Glad that PC is back near the top of the league where I think they belong.

PC is a notoriously poor road team and has 7 road games left. They also have completely sucked in the BE Tourney for the last decade. It's all fun to talk about winning some home games but until I see them play well away from home, I'm not expecting an NCAA bid from them.

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

What does the history of previous PC teams from as much as 10 years ago have to do with what this group can do? Different coach, different group of kids. There is no doubt that road games are hard to win, but I'm not going to assume anything. They played well against both UMass and St. John's on the road, winning one and losing one. They're playing well as a team, so I'll reserve judgment until the team decides its fate.

I hear you. The funny thing is it wasn't even about the loss for me, it was more the fact that we didn't have Dunn and Austin. Cotton has been much better at PG than I anticipated. I knew he could drop 20 points, I just hadn't seem him run an offense as well as he has.

This week will be interesting with two road games.

Did you read what I wrote starting with the word until..... You post a lot about the Friars but you obviously haven't been paying much attention to them if you are disputing this post.

Nah, we have never even won a game at Marquette. They have humiliated us in their building several times.

I read on the PC board:

PC is 1-10 vs. Marquette since Marquette joined the Big East.

Since 1982, PC is 3-11 vs. Marquette (wins: '83, '97 NCAA Tournament, '07).

PC is 4-12 all time vs. Marquette.

Marquette and Syracuse have abused PC (10-48 all time vs. Syracuse).
