At this point I'm thinking SLU, UMass, and GW are pretty solid NCAA teams. VCU is close to being solid, but they can't stumble much more. Dayton may have an outside shot if they pick up, but I'm not sure I can see that happening.

In the AAC, they are performing much better than I thought they would before the year started. Louisville, Memphis, Cinci are all looking solid. UConn, SMU, and Houston are all question marks in my mind (but I admittedly haven't followed them that closely).

SMU and Houston haven't impressed me one bit. I bet 4 teams there. I don't understand the AAC love though. Louisville has exactly zero good wins, UCONN has been bad lately, Memphis actually does look pretty good, and Cincy looks pretty good (though X did beat them by almost 20).

The AAC has 5 teams right now in the top 42 of the RPI. They've shown us the blueprint to get 5 teams in- their 5 top teams- 1 had 1 OOC loss, and the other 4 had 2.

UConn got a top 50 win OOC last week vs Harvard. Louisville has a top 50 win vs So Miss. They've done stuff that will pay dividends come selection Sunday. 4 is a lock. The question is can SMU get enough good wins to make it. If they can get to 22-23 wins, it's going to be hard for them to be out- especially with how poor the bubble is looking...

Question: There are 36 at large bids. Does the American Conference have an automatic entry this year, or are they totally in the At Large category? Or do they have an Automatic and there are only 35 At Larges? They are a new conference. No conferences were dropped, so how are the numbers reconciled?

Thanks. So did a conference get dropped or were there 37 at large bids last year? The Tourney is +1 from last year, so something had to change.

Revised matrix is up, reshuffled on the 14th. Georgetown down to a 11. This was before last night's kick in the teeth. Likely they have moved into bubble territory.

I think a lot of brackets get redone on Friday- so that'll be when we see the impact of last night.

Georgetown is in trouble. They could easily be 12-9 in a few weeks. HUGE game on Saturday with Marquette. It's as close to a must win as there is right now. A loss and they will be 12-6(if we can beat Seton Hall) with Nova, Creighton, and Michigan St coming up.

This massive bracket matrix has been reshuffled as of yesterday. No huge surprises. The consensus of 63 brackets has Villanova as a 2 seed, Creighton as a 4, and Xavier as an 8. Providence has moved into the Last Four In as a 12 seed, but Georgetown is now in the First Four Out. Marquette has disappeared off everyone's bracket.
