Not yet. PC has a penchant for letting teams back in at the end in these type of games. Just need to make free throws, they are clearly the better team.

Oh, ye of little faith. Is there any doubt that the Friars will make their free throws? 8-)

PC needs to win this one. Big difference from 11000+ against creighton to probably <1000 tonight. Weather horrible it's coming down strong here and will all night. Storm combined with 9pm start killed any possibility of a decent showing.

As dark as they keep it there, no one will notice. :D

Anybody think Butler is going into rebuild mode? Seems like BMill only trusts 7 of his players....maybe forcing players out without telling them to leave. It will be interesting to see how he does in 3-4 years when Miller has who he wants on this Butler team.

I don't know if he'll have "who he wants", but the roster will be filled with guys he actually recruited by that time.

Butler's biggest issue is that they don't have guys that could pass for Big East players. Creighton's not huge by any stretch either, but their kids at least look like they physically belong on the floor with other Big East teams. Pound them inside, make Dunham work, eventually they'll crack. Marquette's biggest mistake was that they stopped trying to go inside on them in the second half. Next year this gets a little better with Jones coming back and Freshmen Kelan Martin (6'6, 220) and Tyler Wideman (6'8, 260) coming into the fold. The current players have to make a commitment to gaining as much muscle as possible this offseason, otherwise, it will probably only get marginally better.

This actually sets up pretty well for St. John's to get their first Big East win, since other than Harrison and occasionally Greene no one can really stroke it outside of 10 feet.

Good win for Providence. Cooley was smart enough to listen to Cotton and cleared a side out for him in the second half which really opened things up on the offensive glass for the Friars.

That was a pretty important win for PC last night. I think they're going to teeter on/off the bubble all year and will be that team we think will need a couple of wins at MSG in March to get in.

2,200 fans at 9:00 PM with a blizzard roaring at full force is more than I expected and about BC's average attendance :D . It should have definitely benefited Butler but PC didn't let it happen, again credit to Cooley.

I think you are right that we will be marginally the same next year. Likely you pencil in Jones for Marshall and Chrab for Fromm and go from there. Definitely a downgrade in scoring up an upgrade in defense. The freshmen, well they will be freshmen. Let's hope at least one of them can contribute to the extent that Chrab and Brown has. Berry absolutely has to contribute next year. He has to be a sixth man, or first big off the bench. Morgan is a mystery as to why he is nailed to the bench. With the one scholarship open, we desperately need 'an aircraft carrier' to take up space in the paint.

Yes, Jones would have made a difference this year. We would have won our share of the OT's we lost. But what if's and a $2.25 gets you a small coffee at Starbucks.

I agree with this - I think PC has certainly put themselves back on the bubble. To stay there, they absolutely need to win the games against teams at the bottom of the conference standings.
