Just stop it already...How about giving a healthy SHU some credit. Fuquan played his @ss off in the second half & Gibbs did just enough to bring it home, not to mention Teague.

You can give Seton Hall credit and still wonder why Georgetown fell off a cliff. GTown was 14-4 in the Big East last season. They're 3-3 right now in a worse league. It's a big win for Seton Hall. Have been impressed with how they've played in conference. I just wish they didn't crap the bed in the non-conference because our 4th-best chance at getting a tournament bid just lost at home to a team with home losses against FDU and St. Peter's. How the hell did you lose those 2 games?

Read the quote by the Admin that I was responding to...where is he giving credit to Seton Hall? Even your praise about how well SHU has looked lately is turned into a backhanded complement considering you immediately follow up with comments about old losses. So while you and other "historians" keep talking about defeats from over a month ago SHU is getting it's act together now and trying to make some noise in conference. Go Pirates!!!

The coaches picked Xavier 7th. I think some of the old school big east coaches underestimated the new teams.

My bad, PC was picked 6th. Still think they are definitely Top 5 in this league with the roster they had coming into the season before losing 2 starters. Oh well, we carry on.

I'd say most people underrated Xavier. Not sure people underrated Creighton, they just overrated Marquette and Georgetown. Creighton was picked above Villanova.

Preseason Coaches Poll
Marquette (5) 74
Georgetown (2) 70
Creighton (1) 61
Villanova 58
St. John's (2) 56
Providence 41
Xavier 38
Seton Hall 20
Butler 19
DePaul 13

Also if you follow the Admin's twitter... He basically looks down upon any team that was projected to be a bottom feeder this year that wins a game and takes the angle of disbelief.

"So Marquette and Georgetown are going to lose today to Butler and Seton Hall. Villanova can't possibly lose to DePaul can they?"

"Seton Hall beats Gerogetwon by 10 in DC. Unreal. Hoyas not going to be an NCAA team at this rate."

"Not playing favorites, but it's probably in the best interests of the Big East if Georgetown could win this game."

Meanwhile PC who was projected to be a Bubble/NCAA team? Shows them love the entire game on twitter.

Nice to see the angle coming through from the Admin.

So what? I don't get what's wrong with rooting for teams to make the NCAA tourney. If Seton Hall didn't lose to St. Peter's and FDU, alot of us would be rooting for them to win as well but they didn't and so most of us won't.

Yeah, I agree, unfairly to Seton Hall, it's all about the FDU and St Peter's games. But that's mostly when having to deal with low-information obnoxious fans of other conferences, who will say "Seton Hall finished 4th in the BE, but couldn't beat St Peter's... so BE sucks..."... they'll ignore the injuries and the fact SHU's RPI will still be solid.

I'd recommend that Pirate fans roll with it and use it as bulletin board material instead.

If you're going to bill yourself as an impartial moderator or a Conference website and twitter handle. Then be impartial. Don't say you are being impartial while openly rooting for 3 or 4 teams to lose games and 5-6 teams to win games.

Face it. This league is only getting 3 or 4 teams in the Tourney. So we all might as well get used to the fact that teams 4-10 can win/lose any game any day. Just deal with it!

Marquette has disappointed, Georgetown has disappointed, STJ looks like a trainwreck, PC is shorthanded and looks like they can beat any or lose to anyone, SHU had a very bad stretch and a ton of injuries and lost 2 real bad games (and yet they can potentially be 5-3 in the BE 10 days from now), DePaul will give teams problems, Butler does not have the man power or coach power yet.

That leaves Xavier, Nova and Creighton as the top teams in the League. They are the only 3 that will without a doubt get into the Tourney.

THE BE IS NOT THAT GOOD. And unless you are a fan of one of those 3 teams, YOU'RE TEAM IS NOT THAT GOOD.

If we want more teams in the Tourney, we better expand next year and grab 2 of: SLU, DU, Richmond, LaSalle, GWU or expand West and grab SMC & Zaga.

I agree with the point about the league this season, I always believed this would likely be the conference's worse season over the next few years for a few different reasons. But recruiting and current player development should bring quicker returns than expansion IMO. Just look at SHU- Gibbs' & Sina's development & next year's class are 2/3's of what we need to get back on top...a strong 2015 class is the other piece IMO. Hopefully coaching will improve too :D

Please posters here were down on SHU before the first ball bounced this year & you know that, just check the comments in the preseason polls done here....problem is you guys are still trying to fit our season into that old narrative, which ignored the injuries and the loss of Maayan. If we perform as I believe we can posters who keep harping on two bad, but old losses, are going to keep looking further & further out of touch with reality. Go Pirates!!!

Those losses are old and sadly we cannot change them. Still, there is a lot of basketball left to be played and now that Seton Hall has everyone back and healthy maybe they can make some real noise. There is talent on this team, a lot of talent. However, the problem the past two seasons has been the insane amount of injuries the Pirates have suffered. If everyone stays healthy (so far that's only a one came streak) we will see who the real Pirates are. With everyone healthy and a little win streak under their belts (saying we get to 5-3 over the next few games) confidence will grow and then you never know what can happen. Seems most here would crap their pants.

Look, Seton Hall is an original Big East member. We didn't sign on to become the second coming of Rutgers and become the Big East's new whipping boy. We came to play and we came to win. We want championships! Deal with it!
As always, this is Just One Pirate's Opinion!
